My only issue is that this is a moral dilemma. Same as with Crack Babies and Mandatory Minimums. The government will not change anything on their end and keep sending Billons to Isreal and their foreign interest. As much as it hurts me to say this it’s just less that citizens will get. Yes Ofc the majority were African Americans but Caucasians did get help. Too many fools fail to see elderly and poor workers relied upon it too.

I got injured once and my job, and while my job gave me medical leave so I wasn't unemployed, the short term disability that I'd been paying into for nearly a decade refused to cover the time I was hospitalized because theoretically, I could've worked remotely from my hospital bed. The situation crippled my finances for a few months and I actually had to go on emergency EBT for a month.It was humiliating, but it did mean that my family - who I'm the sole provider for - was able to eat. It gave me a renewed appreciation for the fact that even if it is largely a scam, it really is a safety net for people who might just be in temporary crisis.Oh, and the employer was Wells Fargo and the insurance company that fucked me was Lincoln Financial.
