Some idiot accidentally unleashed an army ant colony of about 1,000 in my neighborhood. Naturally, the local ants (black, red, you name it) formed a sort of ant United Nations or shinobi alliance and started coordinating strikes against the colony. Using classic swarming tactics, they systematically wiped out the invaders in just 21 days. Watching the coalition win battle after battle defeating their rivals was oddly satisfying… I even found myself offering tiny pieces of tamal as tribute as if I were their tributary vassal state (blame my amerindian genes for forcing me to pay respect to a stronger tribe.)
