There is no contemporary equivalent you can make to the feeling of losing WWI and being the pariah nation afterwards had on the average German. It was an all-encompassing feeling of humiliation, dishonor and being sentenced while being innocent. A huge part of society was obsessed with this feeling and getting rid of it. Vote for the party of workers and especially veterans, vote for the party that is obsessed with punishing the people responsible both foreign and domestic the same as you, vote for the people that said the national unity and strength of August 1914 can be regained and even call it a continuation.
