If they knew that, at least on a federal level, blue states benefit more red states than vice versa they couldn't resort to "democrats are communists that want to bring back the soviet union with public health plans", without knowing that if the ACA is axed, a lot of rural republicans are in for some tough shit. Or not knowing that big corpos would rather screw the farmer by bankrupting them and buying their property for pennies on the dollar. Or that the mega datacenters being built near their houses aren't there to employ them with 150k/year salaries but to fuck up their subsurface water system and quadruple their electricity bill.

It's the world we live in, where people vote against their interests because they rather go on with what pleases their ears rather than what might tickle their brains.
