The whole point of a search engine was to be able to find things but at some point they stopped searching for the actual, provided search terms but went for guesswork and redirects to *popular* topics instead while also removing many useful search features that previously allowed to filter, create context, limit results to intended content types, even started cramming video- and image search results into a search the specifically neither used the existing video- or image search, meaning there was a CHOICE that this isn't the wanted content - ignored by Google. The Google search engine also has a bug: minus-filtered search terms are still used as search terms, visible whenever Google tries to replace those minus-filtered terms with similar ones. Google (and the likes) will also happily list non-results as results that are from any walled gardens, where you can't access the actual result without creating an account there first and agreeing to their terms and other non-results, such as pages that link to different content than that the result was about upon visiting. Both malicious behavior, both not punished but encouraged. The only reason no one came up with a competing product is because crawling the entire web and indexing it for fast search result delivery really takes a lot of hardware and time. Reddit specifically is a low IQ / awful opinions / bot farm / garbage quality site that has never been good whenever I gave it the chance - always clueless people and useless posts or even blatantly wrong information.
