The 100k number only comes from that Ukrainian article I found pre Pokrovsk battle so I assume both sides have a somewhat equivalent force in the area otherwise one would steamroll the other. There's lots of back and forth, especially to the north of the city itself (bunny ears part) but the Russians have the advantage overall.
