Dems refuse to abandon neoliberalism so by default they've fixated on the idea that the only reason they're losing is "messaging", which has made them obsessed with e-celebs and the idea that they "need their own Joe Rogan / Charlie Kirk". As a result they're throwing a bunch of money and attention at any left of center (but not actually leftist) e-celeb who can string together a couple thousand followers
