For Muslims, every single waking moment of life is consumed by Islamic practice, reciting Quran, praying, learning Hadith, learning Arabic, teaching your children Arabic and Aqeeda. Other things like politics, hobbies, leisure, etc is all wasted time and time that could be spent doing more and more and more worship and pleasing Allah. There is no such thing "free time" in Islam.

You'll hear MENA Muslims discussing Sisi or مالك الأردن and Palestine policy, Iranian militias, etc far more than you hear them talking about Starmer's NHS policies or Reform's views on Ukraine/Russia. Pakis would do this too if they understood Arabic but instead they settle for Barelvi vs Deobandi Subcontinent affairs. A UK-born Syrian for example, who has been born and grown up here is much more interested in Al Sharaa and Syria than he is the UK political scene.
