Was watching Mussolini Son of The Century and this guy, despite being often ridiculed and seen as a low quality fascist was juggling a million and one things at the same time while trying to rise to power.
>trying to appease both the hard liners and moderates in the party, under constant threat of being ousted by either sides if he pissed them off too much
>having to convince working class people he was on their side while also frequenting high social circles and bashing strikers/communists.
>constant money problems and declining readership in his newspaper business
>banging at least 2 different lovers and a wife
>literally lived in a slum with 3 small children while organizing all this
>a lot of his own neighbours were communists who probably wanted him dead
>navigating a volatile political landscape, making choices on who to back stab and who to ally with
>somehow kept blood thirsty black shirts disciplined and obedient to him despite not getting physically involved in their assaults himself.

It's extremely black pilling to know there is not a single man alive who would be able to go through all this and come out on top. This level of grit, conviction and perseverance is literally gone from the political landscape both right and left.

It's over.

The series made it pretty clear that despite all of this. He only managed to pull it off with incredible luck and extremely stupid opposition.

Series also as a left wing view of history since it exposes how he was bankrolled by the rich who despised communists.
Only major thing missing was the money he got from the UK during ww1 to prop up his newspaper.

It is partially a work of fiction, based of the novel of Antonio Scurati.
(He wrote 5 books about mussolini)

yes but despite its left wing bias its impossible for them to hide his grit.

but the struggle is real isn't it? Mussolini didn't just parachute into power

Classical fascism is kind of interesting. I somewhat agree with its vaguely corporatist take on the economy, but it reduces all human society to a historically contigent, ephemeral institution (the State) which is where it goes wrong. The U.S maintained liberal jurisprudence & civil government while adopting corporatism in the 1940s, and that's a far better system than fascism.

>Mussolini didn't just parachute into power
That's the "hot headed" part working his way up.
When he was young he almost killed himself.

You are right, it was fucking hard and he was the first one. Surely it is unfair to criticize him for not being perfect, but I have to say that you basically didn't change much things. It seems like all he archived was getting into power, not making and implementing policies once he made it.
