Because urban school districts are universally shit due to poor democrat leadership + nogs. Anyone older with kids heads for the suburbs or rural areas. That leaves the cities to broke minorities, immigrants, and childless 20 something liberal whites.

It used to be that the Democratic Party had captured urban issues, and that’s true still but only in so far as urban issues are non-white and female issues. But mostly nowadays it’s just that Democratic Party partisans seek out city living and everybody else seeks white safer living in the suburbs and countryside.
