Sure, some ideas are catching more flies with honey than vinegar, but Christianity for example being peaceful and persuasive wouldn't have gotten the Aztecs to stop what they were doing. Every "ought" or value judgement ultimately will be tested by force and those with a greater will and capacity for violence will prevail.
