SNAP is used by A LOT of recipients to buy slop. By cutting those people off it could result in mega food corps losing billions in sales overnight. It might even wipe out huge swathes of their loyal consumers because people may start buying cheaper storebrand generics instead when forced to use their own money.
Never thought of it till now...These are all government subsidized brands/ companies.
>>519960448I hope so. Would force prices down.
>>519960993and I just realized that if anything happens to them theyll probably get somekind of bailouts from the admin.fuck.
bump
>>519960448No
>>519961214So nothing will change.
>>519960448What food products does Lilly make?
>>519960448This has literally been what they've threatening for months now. kek
>>519960993Including Walmart yes
YesI'm a taco bell higher-up and I am worried sick. Homeless people buying tacos with EBT from us is around ~10% of our entire earnings per annum.
>>519960448>people are just now figuring out that social programs in the US are structured to simply launder money back to the rentier and industrial classesWait until you hear about Section 8 housing, wherein private interests convinced the government to abandon publicly-owned housing (through defunding and desegregation to make it unlivable and hostile) on which the government was the landlord and collected below-market rents from the eligible occupants and replace it with a system where the government still forked out money to private developers to build the housing, but then the developer got to keep ownership of the units and the government agrees to pay a full market rate rent to the private landlord, while only getting back some small portion from the occupant.
>>519966191Dude they just cut SNAP for most poor people without kids. You are delusional.
>>519966259They are trying to impose "labor market discipline", so they'll take a short term hit if need be. They want to terrorize and make uncomfortable the population, because they feel not enough are laboring for them effectively.
>>519966367And that's good? Fuck you.
>>519960993So are the companies that employ workers at such a low rate they require food stamps. Walmart used to help you apply for food stamps dunno if they still do.
>>519960448Based let’s hope it does. Maybe they’ll be forced to lower prices a bit. If not it will accelerate things anyway. Win/win
>>519966759Who said it was good? Are you retarded? I think you might have a reading comprehension problem.
>>519960448It’s going to fuck up the economy and cause prices to sky rocket
>>519967231Correct. Some are trying to say it will cause prices to fall because it will lower demand, but that is not going to happen. They will increase prices on those who can pay to make up for the loss of a broader customer base. And groceries are not cable TV. You can't just cut them out.
