The women being given a fair and clear prenump that she acknowledges is just another layer of protection, since she is legally recognizing the trust isn't hers. It's protection in divorce court because there is a 50/50 chance the judge will take one look and it'll be cut and dry, saving you expensive legal proceedings. If not, you have the protection of the trust that is a completely separate legal entity from you as a person. Everyone needs to put their assets in a trust, I know you can technically do it for less than $300, but how much is the average attorney for starting a trust and moving property/assets into trust.

A good trust will protect your assets from bankruptcy or medical debt as well in many cases. In my case, I hired a good attorney and had something purpose written for me, which was something like $3,500 if I remember correctly.
