Anyone else starting to notice how "expensive" stuff these days is the same cheap shit a fancy label on it? Feels like you have to pay $5000 to get even a table made from any real quality now
>>
you have to buy old shit from auctions and estate sales
>>
>>520197304
The new poor are lazy
>>
>>520197304
I own nothing and I'm happy.
>>
>>520197421
Thats what I try to do but damn people show up at 6am and buy all the good stuff before anyone else can see. Even then, you see insane prices for garage sales. dressers for $500, couches for $1000 etc.
>>
>>520197304

If you weren't such a lazy cunt, you'd realize you can buy almost anything you want from places other than China. Sure, you might pay a bit more, but it's always worth it in the long run.
You could buy some cheap ass shoes made in China for like $20, but need to replace them twice a year because they're made of corn husks and paper mache, or you could $50 on a pair of shoes made in America that'll last you 2-5 years depending on your lifestyle.

You retarded niggers need to stop thinking Chinese shit is cheaper, because it almost never ever works out cheaper due to the constant need for replacements.
>>
>>520197304
>made in the US
its not the same anymore because its not made by whites, its made by niggers and illegal spics
>>
>>520198360
made in the US shoes would be well over $100
>>
>>520198360
You misunderstand. That stuff you see at the store thats 3x more than walmart brands are still made just as poorly, but youre paying more because it has a fancy logo on it.
You can buy a $10 coffee maker or a $400 one and it still uses the shitty parts inside
>>
>>520198360
What he's saying is that "quality" brands outsource to the rice farms too. Everyone cheaps out, the only brands that populate in searches are chinkshit, reviews are all jewbots, and there is no physical store that carries the real products. Finding anything that breaks away from this designed failure hellscape takes an act of god.
>>
>>520198723

Even if that was true, it's still cheaper in the long run.
$100 on a pair of shoes that'll last you 5 years minimum.
Or $20 every 5-6 months, which over 5 years is $200 minimum.

I got a friend who thinks exactly like you. He buys the cheapest pieces of Chinese made shit you can find. Then he'll wear them out in a few months and spend months complaining he needs new shoes. But he wont buy a decent pair of non Chinese shoes because he's too stupid to do the math.

>>520198812
>>520198844

No. You can find plenty of stuff not made in China. Infact, outside of a very few things, you can always find an alternative that is not made in China.
You've just never bothered looking is all.
>>
The stuff that's made in the US still uses Chinese materials, and is made by browns.
>>
>>520197304
that simple picture adequately describes the handbag and swiss watch industry.
>>
>>520198986

Nah, actual luxury brands are still made where they've always been made. I hope you didn't fall for those propaganda tiktoks released a while ago claiming China makes all those expensive handbags (they don't).
>>

>>
less people are having money to spend except the few. so people figure might as well get away with something expensive once than something cheap many times
>>
>>520197304
Plenty of high quality stuff.
Buy US made shit dumbfuck.

>>520198723
Yes, go look at US made work boots. They cost more like $300+ but will last you several years and provide a better value long term.
But people only want cheap instant gratification these days, part of the problem that landed us in this mess to begin with.
>>
>>520199223

Nigga that also applies to China. China themselves barely manufacture anything anymore, they mostly assemble shit now.
Take your phone for example, it might say made in China on it, but the reality is, the parts for it were made in over 50 different countries and then they were all shipped to China who put them together into the finished phone.

The fact is, the raw materials used to manufacture anything are made all over the place.
>>
>>520197304
>Chinese shit
Cope and seethe. Some Chinese products are absolute top tier.
If you've ever used a OnePlus phone you'll understand.
>>
>>520198954
>$100 on a pair of shoes that'll last you 5 years minimum.
>Or $20 every 5-6 months, which over 5 years is $200 minimum.
Chinese shoes from walmart last longer than 5 months. More likely over a year.
but they are so cheap you can replace them every year.
Who the fuck wants to wear the same shoes for 5+ years?
plus. most shoes are made in china, including all the big name brands, sold at big name stores, like Dicks and what not.
some shoe makers sell made in the US versions, but they are well over $100 and made with the same shit materials.
>>
>>520199207
Is that in Canadian Pesos or real money?
Worth noting that our average salaries are also higher than yours.
>>
>>520198511
> niggers
niggers dont make shit, they destroy.
>>
>>520199378
Do you have a brand you recommend? I need to replace my kitchen boots, ideally I want something with both nonslip and composite toes.
>>
>>520199542
I wear double H cowboy boots with a steel toe, but if you want lace ups I highly recommend Georgia boot (US made line, although the import ones aren't too bad either) or Redwing.
Not sure on the comp toe thing, I know Keen makes some US made ones, but not my cup of tea.
>>
>>520199419

Yeah those chink shoes last you more than a year because you're a fat ass who never walks. Most chink shoes aren't even rated to last 100 miles, which a normal person can do in a few months with minimal effort.

And no, not all shoes are made in China. You can find plenty of brands that pride themselves on not being made in China. The shoes I'm wearing right now were made in Somerset in England, and they cost me about $70. I got them in 2021, have walked thousands of miles in them and they're still almost as good as new.
>>
>>520199511
that's my point
>MADE IN THE US
has been destroyed by niggers and illegal spics
since most factories here, are in nigger hell holes
>>
>>520197304
Yup luxury and name brands make money solely off their name and historic quality. Thank capitalism and private equity.
>>
>>520199922
that's pretty much all it is today
everything is jewed to all hell
Made in the US doesn't mean anything at all, today.
>>
>>520199542

>>

that's not made in the US, now is it
you could buy handmade Italian shoes too if you wanted.
>>

>Yes, some Carhartt products, particularly those requiring advanced technology or high-volume production, are made in China.
>>

clearly the one pair isn't made in the US either.
>>
>>520200865

I don't remember saying all of my shoes were made in America. But I will say none of them are made in China.

Infact, almost nothing I own was made in China. I specifically go out of my way to avoid it. Always results in vastly superior quality and longevity and eventually saves money too.
>>
>>520200837

so whats the point you are trying to make here.
you clearly live in the EU somewhere

Those 'expensive' prices are the realistic costs without taking manufacturing shortcuts. That's what people used to pay before globalization.

100% accurate. It's sometimes possible to get quality stuff, but it's so hugely marked up, it's out of reach of most people.

Stoves are a good example.

>$600 stove
You'd be luck if it turns on at all. Plastic.

>$1200 stove
It'll work for two years, then start doing weird things. Hopefully your house doesn't burn down. Aluminum chassis.

>$2500 stove
Works pretty well for 4-6 years. Has a bunch of WiFi shit that no one ever uses on it. Some actual metal, but mostly plastic and aluminum.

>$15,000
A good stove. Will last for 10 years, and can take some abuse. Is it worth $15,000? Fuck no.
>>
>>520198986
>swiss watches
because they are the same quality as always and retain their value, the dealer WON'T LET YOU BUY them unless you spend $50k + in worthless jewelry or watches you don't want.
>>
>>520197304
But some of the Chinese shit is pretty good. You can get noname tools from Amazon that are basically the same as the namebrand tools, probably the same factory, made in Zhuhai which is very good at such things.
Long long ago we had Craftsman tools from Sears, and they were great because when they broke you took them back to Sears and got a free replacement. Otherwise they were not so great, but they did the job, same as Chinese tools today.
I learned later that "Snap-On" was the prestige brand to have, but we weren't prestigious people.
>>
>>520197304
This applies to restaurants, too. Mid-tier sit-down family restaurant gets the same food delivered to their kitchens as a burger king or taco bell.
>>
>>520198812
Let me take the opportunity to suggest an absolute bargain in a $500 coffee maker. Has PID and even pressure profiling knob. If you buy a $3000 La Marzocco, it won't have pressure profiling. https://miicoffee.shop/products/miicoffee-apex-espresso-machine
It's well built inside too, similar to expensive machines (much better than Gaggia plastic crap), but a little cramped to work on.
>>
>>520202608
But they cost the same too. Unless you get dollar menu, McDonalds is not cheaper than Denny's. Well maybe Denny's is worse now if you pay the "suggested" tip.
>>
>>520202172
Malarkey, Rolex was marking down their new prices when it became known that Chinese knockoffs have become 99% as good.
>>
>>520202781
you cannot get a stainless steel rolex first time walking in with no spend history.

Maybe you can spend 50k - 100k on some precious metal with diamonds type thing first visit just because no one else wants it.
>>
>>520197304
Enshittification combined with planned obsolescence. In other words, Jewish tricks
>>
>>520202860
You're telling me the prestige Chinese knockoff is the simple stainless steel one. OK, noted.

my buddy is a lawyer (rich) and said the same. Rolex will never have the watch you want, BUT if you spend $5,000 on shit you DONT want, they will put you on their list, and then they will say sorry the list is long, BUT if you buy this $4000 thing, we could move you up the list
Finally after spending $10,000 they will say 'good news anon your $8000 watch is finally available'
>>
>>520197304
A lot of this is brands that have a long standing good name
>corpo fag comes in and gets the numb
>Corpo fag bails for the next gig earned on his “success”
>good brand coasts for a while before people realize the name is not worth it anymore
>>
>>520203107

For that matter, now I can just get a C8 Corvette and not worry. American engineering comes for them all.
>>

> le NYC
dude you don't know wtf you are talking about. Go rock your chinese knockoffs.
>>520203107
Yeah I would refuse to play those games at all. If you like watches but refuse to cuck your options would be to rock a Hublot or some 100k chocolate rose gold diamond monstrosity rolex lets you buy with no cuckery.
>>
>>520197304

>>

???
Not in my circles.
>>
>>520203430
Actually I do. Rolex makes their own movements, but you could buy a similar 3-dial movement, with about as many jewels in it, for around $50. Knockoffs would build case, dial, hands etc. around those movements. Price may have gone up.

unironically military boots like belville NOT MADE IN CHINA ONES

best kept secret, none of you even know?

WHY? US military has strict specs on materials and quality, and MUST be made in the USA. they are durably tested and designed to be as low cost as possible as well. whats that mean? niggers and wetbacks in prison slave away making your new pair of quality boots for $100 you would otherwise pay something like $300-500 for comparatively, thus paying YOU back a little bit that you deserve

they will last you over 2 years a pair. i work trades and am constantly moving 10 hours a day, and i will get over 2 years each pair

Tudor is literally owned by Rolex and at least makes a robust utilitarian diver that you can purchase without the retarded games Rolex dealers play.
Hublot and Cartier are effeminate looking faggy shit, patek ain't my cup of tea but I still like them overall, but it's not a divers watch.
>>
>>520203107

Almost all luxury brands do shit like this.
A lot of luxury car brands wont sell to just anyone. Unless you're famous or powerful you're not buying one of those limited edition Ferraris. They will simply tell you to fuck off.
Likewise, a lot of luxury clothing brands simply make people wait. You want to buy a $50,000 Hermes bag? Sure, but you've got to wait 3 years just because you have to.

Also, almost all luxury brands make you sign a very restrictive contract when you buy the good that basically limits what you can and cannot do with it. You cannot modify them, you cannot repair them, you cannot sell them second hand, you cannot give them away or let other people borrow them and so on and so on.

This is how the luxury brand industry works.
>>
>>520197902

I just buy the cheap shit now and if it breaks I don’t feel bad about throwing it out and buying it again. The cheap shit is almost always good enough and the supposed quality thing is very frequently just the same exact cheap shit with a different brand stamped on.
