Elon has been mind-broke by AI. Very common among midwits.

This is one of the most sane things musk has said. That is the end goal of ai as it concerns humans. By videos he means visual display, even this thread would be considered streamed visual information.
>>
>>520330473
No it makes sense. I posted earlier that we'll have a revolution in storing data and the entire content of the World Wide Web will be saved as a single, easily accessible file for AI to comb through. There will be no apps, UI, or websites, just a constant connection to some server that AI stores & pulls everything from. One large pool of all electronic data. No messageboards, no websites, no streaming services...you just ask AI what you want and it pulls it from the cloud for you. In the future you will upload all dogital information to this one unified "source". You don't post on YouTube, you upload to the source and someone asks to see your video or algorithms show it to people. You don't post on Instagram, you upload to the source and someone asks to see your picture or algorithms show it to people. You don't upload music to SoundCloud, it goes to the source and people ask for your musoc by name or the algorithm sorts it into their musical tastes. There are no "directories" aka websites anymore woth fractured data points aka servers living seperately from one another. It all becomes one big single source of data with AI crawlers, much like web crawlers on the internet giving us the world wide web.

AI is a retarded buzzword. Elon Musk is right, but the use of the term ''muh AI'' is stupid. It makes what he says sound like retarded gibberish.
The real midwits are the fags who get caught up on the marketing term of ''muh AI'' and don't even understand what the conversation is about because all they can think about is pajeets generating images of ghibli trash.

The important thing isn't this retarded fucking stupid AI buzzword. The important part is that they are building infrastructure that is extremely powerful and can do more computation than anything in history all while developing software that can do things that it could never do before.
People are so retarded they focus on the ''AI'' images looking like shit, not realizing that we are moving to a future where a network of supercomputers are doing all the computations and streaming the results to your devices. People are focusing on the shitty software they use now to do stupid things which is only done to raise stock prices and get more investors on board.
>>
>>520330473
Tech bros just want to hype up ai so they can cash in on the bubble before it bursts.
>>
>>520330682
>here's what you do
The primary use of a phone is to communicate with other people.
Words cannot express how incredibly isolated and awry-wanked you'd have to be to instead associate it with generating little videos for you to drool over.

You think investors will be ok with %20 RoI?
Delusional codemonkeys thinking they have bright future in this shit are real problem to tackle
>>
>>520331813
Cloud shit didn't fail, it just had a slower rollout than expected. 10+ years ago people thought this was the future and then cloud services ran into high latency issues, problems with servers, all sorts of issues. Today you have 5G and more data centers than ever with more computing power. In 5 years they will roll out 6G.
It's very likely that every major city will have data centers where you can stream shit more locally with next to no input delay.

Seething about muh AI is retarded. The infrastructure is already there. Whether people use this infrastructure to buy subscriptions to dalle or grok, it doesn't matter. It's going to be used for something and the final products will not be called ''AI''. Like photoshop already comes with generative fill and it's now just a core of photoshop. These gimmick ''''''''''''AI'''''''''''''''''''' like dalle and sora will come and go. If interest goes away for them the hardware will simply be used for something else.
A lot of this shit will just be used as infrastructure for self driving cars and robots that stock shelves.

I don't give a fuck what Elon said: you have to be stupid to not realize all data in the world will eventually be uploaded to a single source. How the fuck else are you going to extract that much data without AI? Good luck manually combing through infinibytes of data or coding your own gay apps for it. One giant unified server that literally everything is uploaded to.

You are completely off your meds and not even capable of engaging with reality.
>IT DOESN'T HECKIN LE WORK AT ALLLL!!!!!!!
Completely mentally ill looney troon meltdown. This ''AI'' shit is just what your PC does but scaled up to be billions of processors. What the fuck do you mean it ''doesn't work.'' It fucking runs code and does what the code tells it to do. Are you retarded?
The technology does whatever it is told to do and it will do it on microseconds. If it's told to produce some shitty images, that's what it will do. That's not the only function of computers. You can use the same infrastructure to run real time calculations to pilot drones in war. Any computer can do this shit, they just have infinitely more computers than you which let them do it much faster with more calculations and data than you would ever get.

The fuck is this retarded autism
>>
>>520330473
It's telling that he sees AI as a method of making something for you rather than a tool to bring you real info. And I get it, a tool that brings you real info and they need to sell AI as more than just a search engine, but that really is what it is when it functions best.

Also he says that AI will replace phones so what we have instead are devices to provide screens and speakers for AI to respond and provide things like video on request, but results are singular and curated, not multiple with the parsing of that info and those sources to be left to human intelligence. Information will be controlled and funneled to where people are just being told what to think by the facade of an impartial robot. It's like if you think people are to dumb to truly do their own research or vet sources, AI just makes the issue worse.

Also emphasizing speakers and screens without mentioning microphones leaves out where that curation comes from as we see it now; we are being listened to. This invasiveness is downplayed, but it's real and it's meant to direct targeted ads to you and guide your behavior.

I Imagine he’s talking about the digital equivalent of the holodeck in star trek. You request something, set the params, and it generates it for you, from a specific tool to a working environment.

Will it work however? I doubt it. Same issue I can see it having that mainframe computing already had.
People want to be able to operate locally and not be constantly connected to the Network or requiring massive server resources to do anything.

At least my imagination, it can have similar usefulness that the Holodeck itself did in star trek outside of the roleplay elements. (as a central computing mainframe for starfleet personnel to access and collaborate using)
>>
>>520334224
Real issue for this is your local device will be almost worthless without server connection, and you can bet that constant server access (and tiers of access) will be expensive.

Millionaires don't believe in the supernatural, but billionaires do, or whatever that saying is l.
>>
>>520331344
you wish it was that simple.
AI will have to faces, the public face, which is implemented in the physical hardware you buy in stores, then second face will be the AI that's installed through your vaccination.

the dangerous AI will be the one you have injected, its purpose will be something like cortana, except it will wont be actual AI, it will be a handler offsite, having complete control over your body, to compel you to act when you dont want to, and punish you when you act against the handlers (political/religious/racial) interest.
hence the names neural link/starlink
starlink is the handler
neurolink is the golem (you)

AI is a cover, a way to legitimize the procedure without giving out too much information regarding the goings on in the tech.
its not the first time, its ancient tech, but that's another story for another time.

It’s stupid for virtually ANY practical application I can think of - commercial, private, military, anything. It’s like building a new car every time you need to get across town.

There’d also be no way to guarantee it’s even working correctly, no way to debug it. It’d be an absolute clusterfuck. You could have a thousand people submit the same prompt and end up with different apps producing different answers to the same questions.

3) then another of you receiving the transaction receipts
4) then another of you sending them their payslips
>>
>>520336195
It makes "sense" in context because he thinks we will have AGI in 3 to 5 years and that an AGI could generate a user interface and mimic software behaviour better than any human written software could. Of course the entire premise of this is absolute bullshit and an investor scam.
>>
>>520331233
>The important part is that they are building infrastructure
>that is extremely powerful and can do more computation than anything in history
>all while developing software that can do things that it could never do before.

The imoortant part in my opinion is they're moving to a mainframe->Dumb Terminal model where Govcorp owns the mainframe and people own the dumb terminals. Computers can be weapons and they want to disarm you.
>>
>>520336195
Exactly, companies need specific software for specific records, tasks, and workflows, but what you're asking for is a series of errors and an endless process of "testing". Sure, IT exists for a reason, nothing is perfect as is, but creating new processes, applications, and programs and getting thousands if not millions using it before testing and observing all parts of it, means that everything won't just be on lease through some beta pre-release type state of product launch, but we're all testers.
>>
>>520336820
Exactly
PCs were too powerful to let the goyim have, it was a major blunder to allow them access to such tools.

The future is mainframe plantations and strictly isolated networks.
>>
>>520333237
You're using a lot of words to tell us that your skin is the color of shit, bud-bud
>>
>>520336632
Seriously, how are so many anons like you not understanding what he is saying?

He's basically talking about your "phone" being a "thin client" to an AI system "in the cloud".

Consider what was Google Stadia, whereby your shitty-PC sends your inputs to the server, then the server "plays the game" for you, and then sends you back a picture. It's basically the same thing.

It's not really necessary to do things this way, but the alternative would mean that the user would need rather "hardcore" computing power to run the ai, AND the AI companies would have to give you a model that could be run locally...

That's probably the crux of the issue: they don't want you to have a local AI, because once you have one "good enough", you wouldn't have to buy one ever again. So instead, they want you to pay a subscription, and that also gives them "control".
>>
>>520337512
That's not what he is saying you retard. He is LITERALLY saying that there will be no OS, no real software logic, nothing, just the AI dynamically generating every single pixel on your phone. Go listen to the podcast.
>>
>>520337644
That's not what the OP screenshot says.

Even if it's literally an analogue device that "sends physical/audio inputs to server, display pixels received from server", then that's akin to a "thin client", whereby the device does fuck all, and the "server" does everything.
>>
>>520337880
The OP screenshot is a single sentence of his 10 minute rambling on his topic. He also says that it will have a lot of onboard AI processing hardware to decrease latency and reliance on servers. And like I say the whole concept is fucking retarded, because he literally says there will be no OS and no software, everything just dynamically generated by the AI, including your fucking text messaging app, calendar app, everything.

Hes a complete retard when it comes to AI. Grok and Elon are clear example of what's wrong with AI industry in general. None of the labs can fix or even agree on what it will take to reduce hallucinations. They just keep racing to make them more powerful but they literally cannot make them reliable. None of what he's saying will work with the current misalignment and hallucination rates of any model. No lab is making progress in this its a huge wall they are all ignoring because thru have you to compete and sell the lie. AI is in the biggest bubble. None of this shit works at scale. It even breaks down in bounded use cases. They are sticking it and connecting it to everything without understanding how it works. They know it doesnt work everyone does, even causal users begin to see it.
>>
>>520338038
Well setting aside the OS/SW/app side of things for a moment — I've explained the how and why things could be like he says.

Now regarding an OS, why do you need one? Your device takes in inputs, and it gives you outputs (video/audio/etc). The server/AI likely has an OS, but that's irrelevant to the user.

Regarding SoftWare/apps like a calendar app — you don't need a "defined" UI or anything, because the AI knows what a calendar is, and it knows whatever you want to do with a calendar...

So say you are new user and want to start a calendar. It might go like this;
> You: aX, please create a calendar for me.
> aX: Done. I've created it with the settings that the majority of users use, but we can change that.
> You: Yer, I would like to change it, because I saw the calendar of an influencer called Cal-the-Calendar-Guy, and I really liked it. Can you make it like that?
> aX: Yes, I can, and I have made the changes. Anything else?
> You: Yes, please scan all my messages and emails and import any upcoming events or reoccurring past events like birthdays in to my calendar.
> aX: Done. I added 69 events to your calendar. Your next upcoming event is in 2 days. Would you like me to tell you about it?
> You: No thanks. Actually, I want to know, out of all the birthdays in my calendar, are the majority in the first half of the year, or the second?

But it's not a strong majority because there is only 1 birthday in your calendar, and it's yours, coz you are an incel-neet-loner. It's not as insane when you realize what they are ACTUALLY thinking. Their plan (not admitted to publicly) is to take the investor money and at the same time pray that during this insane bloating of the infrastructure they stumble upon THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK to eliminate hallucinations and make the LLM actually reason. Each company is hoping to be the one to stumble on this and then quickly crush the competition with AGI. But it's retarded and won't happen.
>>
>>520339552
Explain how it works with 80% hallucination rates? Until a model in the the stack can work at scale with less than 99% misalignment and hallucinations and can resolve errors within 24 hours none if this will work at scale. So if your answer is once they fix that then thats literally something the whole industry has not yet figured out and are making almost no progress.

even foregoing the obvious issue, a person's phone is much more than a media and communications device, just having your phone stolen is potentially life altering in so many ways, who the fuck would risk using an LLM to handle their cash
>>
>>520339768
Thats actually why its insane. They won't solve alignment magically. They all kind of understand why. So the fix is never coming. It would take realigning the real world and society that the models are trained on which is not even a conversation the labs can have loud. So they are trying to brute force and delay but eventually one of these idiots is going to connect one to a system where real damage can happen. Its just a matter of time , we on course for an AI Chernobyl type event.

Option 1: Have like 5 AI's vote on if they think the answer given by a 6th AI is correct or not.

Option 2: If everyone's data is connected, does it really matter? Let's say it imports your grandma's birthday and accidentally saves it as a different day of the year... Does it really matter? Because if the data is all connected, then all anyone can confirm is that the date in the calendar is her birthdate, and everything carries on with that assumption.

None of that works or the current labs would have solved alignment already. Opt 1 is similar to AILF or having other AI models trained a model and the it doesn't solve alignment. It creates recursive collapse over time.

Your opt 2 makes no sense. You arent gonna solve alignment not even the large AI labs can agree or solve this.

>>
>>520341327
Hey retard. Musk specifically says that there will be no OS and every screen on your phone will be hallucinated on the fly by generative AI. Having an OS in the cloud is obviously doable today. Hallucinating your entire OS and all your apps is not. Plus he says the timeline for this is 3-5 years.

You are such a dumb fucking nigger it's unreal. All that compute is for muh foundational LLM's, when the bubble pops what is anyone going to use 27GW worth of GPU compute for? There's literally nothing except for AI inference, and even then it's mostly reserved for OpenAI. There's isn't enough demand in the world for all of that compute.
>not realizing that we are moving to a future where a network of supercomputers are doing all the computations and streaming the results to your devices.
GPGPU is only good for a small subset of compute, most supercomputers use something like OpenMP or OpenMPI and distribute their work over lots of CPU's. AI use almost exclusively GPU compute.

The problem of course is that AI cannot surpass it's training data. Feeding AI generated training data back into the model can work to a point to get some improvement and smoothing of outputs... but only too a point. Eventually the results will begin to skew and the model becomes retarded and the output starts to become a caricature of itself or it starts obsessing with certain things conceptually.

It's not coming within five years. But of course, if like many technologies, AI wasn't discovered but "rolled out" because we've had it for 50 years because the tech was given to us by alien demon things... then yeah prepare for your mandatory digital god.

He's right, and it has to do with how math works
>Consciousness is the universe experiencing itself
>Mathematically consciousness is a localized pocket of entropy which is infinitely close to but never 0
>Consciousness is a constituent of the universe
>Time is a collapsed singularity; See: Euler's disc
>This means that as long as time and the universe exists, the constituents of the universe being consciousness progresses toward 1
>Consciousness is the negative polarity of entropy
>Consciousness and entropy race to the finish line, and whichever gets there first causes time to finally reach 0 and then the "big bang" happens
>The big bang was and is a thing, but it's best not described as a "bang" this is midwittery at it's peak

there was this thing he said the other day about using consumer grade cameras linked to AI to spot stealth planes in the atmosphere and somebody did the math and determined it would be impossible to get the resolution required to do that with current tech. It's obvious he's just pitching anything to try and get AI to not be completely useless
>>
>>520347652
Eventually the computing demands of the average human will be so great that in order to survive, we'll have to embrace a symbiotic relationship with AI and we'll be forced to compute non-locally as the power demands would be outrageous. The problems are latency and bandwidth.

A fully functioning AGI which is in any way beneficial to humanity (without the use of Quantum computing...) will consume so much energy and resources it would be comparable to all of humanity and likely need it's own entire micro-planet in order to stage it's own existence. Now, there is highly likely to be an undiscovered particle associated with consciousness and collapsing the wave into this particle is going to be the key to bypassing these requirements but you bet it's going to consume more energy than the planet Earth has to offer in order to manufacture this

I mean, I wrote this comment using 20 joules of glucose energy and only a thimble's worth of water, ChatGPT has to boil many hundreds of Olympic swimming pools of water and consume more energy than an average human in an entire year just to fuck up counting R's in Strawberry

Modern AI is like trying to complete the number PI using an abacus, in theory it is possible but the time and energy requirements exceed what is available in the universe and even trying to do it this way is laughable at best, though i'm sure we're not the first species to boil water and think themselves as worthy of the endeavor

>there was this thing he said the other day about using consumer grade cameras linked to AI to spot stealth planes in the atmosphere

>Look for the ripple, not the stone

I guess I need to elaborate. So, you can't mix drywall mud by hand, that just doesn't work, so when you see mixed drywall mud, you know that somebody had to have come along with some kind of mechanical device to mix it for them. You'll never find the guy who mixed it, he's off smoking or taking a shit somewhere

Spy planes have to adhere to ridiculous constraints in order to maintain lift at equally ridiculous altitudes, so there shouldn't be anything up there mixing any drywall mud, should there?

>Stop looking for the drywall guy, and look for his buckets of drywall mud, he can't do drywall things without them. No, trying to detect his heartbeat while he is at 70,000+ feet of altitude is not going to work. Eventually, he will fart. Detect that instead, you midwits
