pathetic
>>520405718is that just a pile of tumbleweeds? does it work?
>>520405782it's porcupine armor to stop FPV drones.Cope cages are only for drops
>>520405865is the Lancet still a thing? or are iranian doritos just cheaper and more useful?
>>520405718WAAAAAAAAAGH!
>>520405928yeah lancet is getting upgraded all the time, there are multiple versions and some of them have AI targeting.FPV fiber optic drones however are the real shit
>>520405961they should paint it red to make it go faster...
>>520405019The cope cages were never about drones. They were attempts to protect against ATGMs like US Javelins at the start of the war before widespread UAV use was even a thing, which is why they were labeled as cope cages. Small guided UAVs are definitely a battlefield threat that must be accounted for and the slat armor on top is effective for that purposes.
>>520406172Retarded zoomiesdrones taking out tanks were a thing before Ukraine even started and was happening in syria
>>520406172We start using UAV for drops in 2015. Numbers were small of course.
>>520406172>Russians just accidentally had the exact protection needed for fpv drones, but mistakenly used it for atgmsyour mother did humanity a disservice by not aborting you when she had the chance.
>>520405019>Russia invents new tactic>Ahahaha look at these mongols so desperate>Ukraine copies it>Innovative Ukrainians invent brilliant new tactic
>>520405718Impractical. The crew can't escape. Also it would short out so many things.
>>520405125time traveler
>>520405718Now they are just going to have thousands of sharp pointy sticks stuck in them if a drone hits that.
>>520405019>cope cageInternet faggots.Everything in military arms and armor is a "cope."Body armor is a cope for bullets.Reactive tank systems are a cope for RPGs.The box magazine is a cope for low ammo.Gauze is a cope for bleeding.Sniper rifles are a cope for long-distance targets. Sounds stupid, doesnt it?
>>520406919they aren't meant to escape. these "super tanks" or whatever you call them are supposed to soak up the drones so the infantry can move and ukies waste their drones trying to take it out.
>>520407160cope intercontinental ballistic nuclear missiles
>>520406919they don't need to escape because explosion does not damage the tank. The kinetic force of drone hits is really small thats why the goal is to just keep them exploding as far from machine as possible.
>>520405019I bet that cope cage has costed at least $50k vs the cost of $50 for russian cope cages. westoid MIC simply cannot compete.
>>520405019That's a wage cage.
>>520405718If this fluffy piece of shit is going to become the standard for modern weaponry, then everyone should just give up on war altogether.
>>520407160Yes.If you aren't using your fists, you are coping for your lack of strength.>Inb4 violence is a cope for a lack of diplomacyCome say that to my face. Violence is supreme.
>>520408042it's so heavily anti-drone only because ukronate went so hard on FPV drone
>>520405718fucking kek
>>520407968
Insufficient coverage. Ngmi
>>520406919It's a Russian tank. Nobody is escaping that. They operate on a binary scale. The crew is either totally fine and continues fighting or the tank is destroyed and the crew is totally dead. No in betweens.
>>520405019you wouldnt be pissy if they didnt work against your Temu warfare
I've seen Leopard 2, Challenger 2, T-90's explode from a single drone hit. Also Stryker, Bradley, BMP, BTR, even a German Marder. Everything. There's a reason everyone is putting cope cages on their shit now. You have to do it or you'll just die instantly. With a cope cage you have a chance to survive a few hits, which could be the difference between living vs dying.
>>520407352A cope for long range bombers being massacred!
>>520410649i like when the turret reaches the stratosphere
>>520405718
>>520405718badass
>>520406844He's right, IIRC Russian tanks were seen fitted with cope cages on literally the very first day of the war long before drone usage became notably widespread. Their original intention was to try and protect against the kind of modern ATGM that fires a penetrator downwards into the roof of the tank, there was even one crew that had a bucket of burning something on a stick presumably in a hail Mary effort to confuse a heat-seeking warhead. It was a simple coincidence, turns out a cover over the top of a tank to try and stop a highly sophisticated missile is extremely effective at stopping people from dropping explosives on your head via a drone.
>>520405718>>520413543>yes sir, the whole hill started moving>no sir I have not been drinking
>>520408921Unless, paradoxically, it's something extremely outdated like the T-55. Thanks to lacking the carousel autoloader of more modern Russian tanks they have a fairly high chance of simply burning when hit instead of exploding spectacularly.
