THE FUTURE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
A NEW GOLDEN ERA IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY HAS JUST STARTED, SOMETHING UNTHINKABLE EVEN AN YEAR AGO.
BMW IS LAUNCHING HYDROGEN POWERED CARS NEXT YEAR.
INDEPENDENT ANALYSIS HAS CONFIRMED THAT BMW’S NEW HYDROGEN ENGINES DEMONSTRATE IMPRESSIVE STABILITY.
EV'S ARE FUCKED

Now you just need hydrogen gas stations , but there are none.
>>
how much cheaper is hydrogen needed to fuel it than regular fuel

Of course are EV's cucked it's an old technology and they still haven't managed to make it functional. Nineteen century 1828 some Hungarian guy named Ányos Jedlik and so on. People these days are so stupid, but I guess we all suffer from the multicultural melting pot somehow.

Always makes the narratives about a place where they can sit and be the middlemen between the consumers and the producers...
Pretty sure that you just put in water and the hydrogen is produced for the vehicle without any need for a centralized production and distribution network of Goblin merchants.
Now Oy Vey back to the elders and kevetch.

Hydrogen fuel is anywhere from twice the price of gasoline to ten times the price of gasoline depending on where you live in the world. The average MPG equivalent is around twice what you get for gasoline. So there is zero cost benefit for the consumer in using them, as opposed to electric cars that can just be charged at home for about $1.50 per day if used daily (essentially zero on days not used), so there is at least some argument to be made about electric cars being cheaper.

The process for making hydrogen fuel and electric batteries (including charging them) still relies on pretty energy intensive production so neither really offset the dreaded "carbon footprint" bullshit though.
>>
>>520409278
Hydrogen is gaslighting by the nat gas industry because they want to crack the gas to hydrogen. None of them are invested in electrolyzers, that market is 95% China.
>>
>>520408977
No, you have to separate the hydrogen from oxygen using pretty energy intensive methods. Hydrogen fuel needs pure hydrogen in the tank and it has to be liquid hydrogen instead of gas.

Hilariously, cars and trucks used to be able to run off propane. They had lower MPG than gas but were cheaper to fill, the engines lasted much longer because of how clean it burned, and it was an easily available fuel source. Fell out of popularity fast though.

They are still too expensive.

Rich people might get hydrogen cars but EVs are for the poor.
>>
>>520409278
When solar and wind over produce, hydrogen could be used as storage. Use the excess electricity to make hydrogen.

Now if only BMW found a way to store that hydrogen.
>>
I'm sure it will work great for them, unlike all the other people who have tried to make Hydrogen cars and failed. Specially in the EU where energy costs are the highest in the whole world. Surely nothing will go wrong with producing commercially viable hydrogen which requires a lot of electricity to produce in the EU.

Who exactly is gonna fall for this shit?
>>
what about that nuclear waste encased in glass? couldn't that power a car for like 500 years?
>>

>When solar and wind over produce
That affects the entire system, which is why load balancing is such a problem on green grids.
>hydrogen could be used as storage
You'd need to have localized storage at every single generator to avoid problems with the grid, but what's a little more unsustainable infrastructure and deforestation for the sake of renewables?
In for a penny, in for a pound, am I right?
>>
>>520409600
Methane was also viable and clean burning but then California banned an obscure trade chemical that gets emitted and that was that.

It's all bullshit to enable a few cartels that own the patents.

>>520414142
you can produce your own fuel at home with a bunch of wires, tapwater and a battery, of course tiniest amounts but the core principle is valid
you can even buy small experimenting kits with hdyrogen fuel cells that power appliances much like steam engine kits where you can attach a small saw or conveyor
inventor engineer people are working on building home appliance hydrogen generators and fuel cells for daily use since a few decades now and they are in varying stages of progress

How are we going to get hydrogen?

There's enough trouble powering the ai slop machines. Imagine trying to power electrolysis plants on top of that.
