>Bessent says US is in recession
But I thought AI is going to save everyone?
>>
We've been in a recession since COVID.
>>
>told to stop importing indentured slaves
>trash the economy out of spite to throw the midterms

That’s what is going on

Ai is fake and everyone knows it
>>

That's kind of the point

It has digested the entirety of human knowledge and is still dumb as fuck

the AI-mania is basically the only thing keeping up the American markets, so they are doing everything they can to pump it

>But I thought AI is going to save everyone?
The purpose of AI was never to save the people. Its purpose is to generate big profits by being the biggest technological development since the commercialization of the internet in the 90s.
That means people losing jobs -- lots of people.
But I do agree AI is for the best. The jobs being lost are shitty jobs that no right-thinking, non-brainwashed, non-desperate person would ever want in the first place.
Of course there will be a hard transition in the coming years as half the workforce becomes unnecessary and has to find a new way to survive.
UBI is inevitable because it'll be the only way to prevent social chaos when more than half the population is living with no income.
But UBI won't be enacted without a struggle, nor will it be enacted quickly.
So AI is all for the best, the same way industrialization was for the best, and the agricultural revolution was too. But the good outcome AI will achieve will take a while to get, just like the Industrial Revolution didn't improve ordinary people's lives until like a century later in the mid 1900s, and the dawn of agricultural took a couple millennia before people started having better lives than they had in pre-agricultural societies.
There is always a hard transition in these leaps of progress and standard of life, when people have to go backward for a while and suffer too, even for generations, but in the end, and for every following generation, life is vastly improved.
Simple as

People are quickly realizing it's all one big circlejerk with nothing to show for it.

Is AI building homes, growing food, giving me a blowjob, what is it doing exactly?

This. We never really recovered from 2008 and its been full fake economy since covid. The US redefined recession publicly when Biden got in.

Ive got an offline computer that now lets me generate text images and video. Its kinda retarded but I can coax it into doing some useful stuff for me.

Dont know why they invested trillions to make it happen but im good.

There is also the idea that the government will force it to succeed because itll be used to monitor people and guide weapons. Essentially the governments desire to constantly be aware of how many apples you bought today will guarantee these companies business no matter how shit the AI turns out to be.

The AI bubble will likely pop in 2026-2027 and cause an official recession but it’s probably a good thing overall
>recession massively cools off inflation
>GPU prices drop due to Nvidia losing 60-70% of its market value
>AI application becomes ROI driven and not hype based meaning less impact on labor and meme startups get wiped out
Btw Microsoft will be the big winner of a crash and AI winter, and Nvidia gets fucked royally
>>
>>520494857
The tech is real but the hype is not. The reason why Microsoft wins big when the bubble bursts is that it doesn’t become an Industrial Revolution but basic software for people to use like Microsoft office. Sam Altman and Jensen Huang are the ones selling a lie on what it is and will be, Sora is what you make when you realize AI isn’t going to radically transform the world

>>520496485
Yes I suspect the only way out of the rut since 2008 is boomers dying and the largest inter generational wealth transfer in human history down to millennials and zoomers

>recession
Just change the definition bro. None of these words mean nothing. Biden did it and he did it with what a vaccine was like 3 times in 2 years and nobody cared.

working really hard
