I have a friend. He's constantly complaining about saving up to pay off his CC debt. He's taken on a second job (target wagie) in addition to his white-collar office job for that.

My lunches I take to work are $1.60 and will fill any dinner plate. It’s rice, ground turkey, black beans, and onions sauce. What you should be doing is putting all purchases you can onto your credit card to earn cash back, then paying off your statements in full every month. Routine payments (never missing) ups your credit score. AVAILABLE credit ups your score. If you have $10k available on your cards and you roll a $5k balance every month you are hurting your score vs $1k of routine expenses that get paid off on the due date. Not to mention the insane interest you’re paying.
