Let me get this straight.

For nearly a full year, President Trump waged a tariff war collecting $195 billion in customs duties in FY 2025 alone knowing full well that these tariffs act as a regressive consumption tax on every American household. The Treasury’s general account now clearly shows the burden: U.S. consumers effectively paid an extra $1,300-$1,500 per household in higher prices for imported goods, with some shouldering more than others. A few even avoided Chinese products to “support the country,” only to still bear the cost through broader inflation.

Now, from that same tariff-funded pool, he proposes sending $2,000 checks to roughly 170-180 million adults earning under $75,000 AGI-totaling $380-$400 billion in direct cash transfers.

So:
- Tax every consumer proportionally to their spending (many of whom earn far less than $75k).

- Redistribute fixed $2,000 payments only to lower earners, funded by the broader tax base.

And this isn’t socialism, its just winning bro?
This is fucking madness, I opened the treasury budget. Fuck me fuck me.

>And this isn’t socialism
Socialism is when the government seizes the means of production and outlaws private property, like in the Soviet Union.

I'm done learning about economics. You fucking people were right. John Maynard Keynes is a fucking socialist and the U.S. Dollar is built on a socialist foundation. This entire thing will make people believe this is a golden age because they can use that money to buy a tattoo or something.

George Bush sent out $300 to everyone and they were hoping it would boost consumer spending but most people saved it or paid off credit.

Populist claims people that oppose him are going to deprive toothless hillbillies of 2k checks.
Not entirely unexpected and not entirely unexpected that they've already forgotten they were promised 5k checks six months ago.

Giant companies like Google, Microsoft, , Facebook, etc don't pay tariffs. Think about that.

If I intended to expand the debt massively I'd also set up a government efficiency department to distract/deflect from this fact
