How did left-wing politics evolve from a focus on class, poverty, and collective structures (such as the commune, society, or the state) taking precedence over the individual, to a contemporary orientation centered on identity, therapy, individual rights and the prioritization of “the self” — self-expression, self-realization, and self-actualisation — over the collective? How did the left drift from economic materialism to a hyper-liberal idealism where personal belief overrides material reality — even that of one’s own biology? When did it happen? What is the point at which you drift so far from left wing dogmas that you cease to be able to describe yourself as left wing?
>>520988322because those are the politics of the weak and retardedobviously the weak and retarded are what you get championing your cause
trillionaires shouldn't exist
>>520988438When did weakness and championing the victims in life become so prominent in the left. Borderline eugenic stances werent uncommon in left wing politics at one poibt. I suspect feminism had something to do with it.
>>520988322Post-1968, CIA and western governments needed to neutralize the leftist threats and directed class anger towards bourgeois friendly social liberalism and ideas like "intersectionality" that shifted the focus away from class. This took over the academic institutions and replaced orthodox Marxism in the social sciences, and they ramped it up in mainstream media/institutions post-Occupy Wall Street and Bernie 2016 to neutralize class consciousness
>>520988322Because the collective realized it is holding up those that control them. OWS and gamergate unironically were the driving factors behind what you are asking.
One dad 8 kids That's itCan't be that hard what are they like 50 billions?
>>520988708This seems insightful.I'm never sure whether you can pin point the shift to the shift in student politics in the 60's, the liberalization of financial sectors and the rise of the consumer economy in the late70's/early 80's or a orchestrated response to deflect cririsism of the financial elites post 2008."Intersectionalism" is a clear an cynical move to eradicate class politics and alienate the working classes from left wing politics. Easily the most ridiculous and damaging standpoint of the contemporary "left">mfw "inter sectionalism"
>>520988322>Less concerned with economic analysis than earlier schools of Marxist thought, Western Marxism placed greater emphasis on the study of the cultural trends of capitalist society, deploying the more philosophical and subjective aspects of Marxism, and incorporating non-Marxist approaches to investigating culture and historical development.>this style of Marxism was taken up by Germany's Frankfurt School in the 1930s.Answer as always is Jews when people reference "woke" they're pointing out Western Marxismhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Marxism
>>520989194. That doesn’t really add up. Its a dominant explanation but it doesnt really work, as the “cultural Marxists” of the Frankfurt School etc largely stayed within the traditional Marxist view that the individual is a product of capitalist structures. Their focus was on how class relations are reinforced and maintained through cultural mechanisms and institutions (reification) — it was about revealing that system, not celebrating individual empowerment. In contrast, the contemporary left tends to champion the individual, aiming for a society where everyone is self-actualized and unrestricted. In that sense, they’re really more like hyper-liberals than Marxists.
>>520988322>In addition to this there is the horrible–the really disquieting–prevalence of cranks wherever Socialists are gathered together. One sometimes gets the impression that the mere words ’Socialism’ and ’Communism’ draw towards them with magnetic force every fruit-juice drinker, nudist, sandal-wearer, sex-maniac, Quaker, ’Nature Cure’ quack, pacifist, and feminist in England. One day this summer I was riding through Letchworth when the bus stopped and two dreadful-looking old men got on to it. They were both about sixty, both very short, pink, and chubby, and both hatless. One of them was obscenely bald, the other had long grey hair bobbed in the Lloyd George style. They were dressed in pistachio-coloured shirts and khaki shorts into which their huge bottoms were crammed so tightly that you could study every dimple. Their appearance created a mild stir of horror on top of the bus. The man next to me, a commercial traveller I should say, glanced at me, at them, and back again at me, and murmured ’Socialists’, as who should say, ’Red Indians’. He was probably right–the I.L.P. were holding their summer school at Letchworth. But the point is that to him, as an ordinary man, a crank meant a Socialist and a Socialist meant a crank. Any Socialist, he probably felt, could be counted on to have something eccentric about him.-George Orwell, The Road to Wigan Pier, 1937They were always like this.
>>520988708This. The social justice movement was not originally about trans rights or being heckin valid. In the 60s those same “educational” institutions began the process of credentialing rather than educating.

>>520988682>When did>Why>HowWhen you recognize that it is a malevolent force that was always intended to end in the result of being the destruction of a nation, it all makes more sense.Pre Christian Rome went down the same way in the time of Gaius Marius, who had to flee Rome after a lifetime of protecting its interests because assassination, blatant disregard for the Laws of Rome being disregarded and ignored for personal gain, political murder and coups became rampant, laws by usurpers passed to prevent ladder climbing by lowly bureaucrats, personal vendettas and interests took precendence by rulers over the interests of the constituents.Liberalism is a jewish psyop for a singular purpose, to break down walls of tribes, to dilute groups and interests with garbage, and to weaken nation states
>>520989992Thats a good quote and most likely accurate. Fringe causes attract eccentrics.... but in the 1930's the left were still focused on economics and class politics. Somewhere since then they almost completely eradicated ideas of class, collective action, poverty, economic determinism, materialism, the prioritization of the collective over the individual.....I have a feeling it was probably by the late 70's. Left wing ideologies really sprouted out of tge industrial revolution. When people's material conditions changed and they found themselves living cheak-by kowl in slums and working ontop of each other in horrendous conditions. Communism/socialism etc makes sense in that environment. It gives people a model of power, their role in it and how it can be changed by collective action. From the late 70's people in the west were living much more individualized, individualistic, individualized lives that traditional left wing politics no longer applied to. Mainstream politics became dominated by an almost neo-liberal consensus and far left politics shifted into individualistic hyper-liberal ideologies.

>>520988322"The problem that the Vampires’ Castle was set up to solve is this: how do you hold immense wealth and power while also appearing as a victim, marginal and oppositional? The solution was already there – in the Christian Church. So the VC has recourse to all the infernal strategies, dark pathologies and psychological torture instruments Christianity invented, and which Nietzsche described in The Genealogy of Morals. This priesthood of bad conscience, this nest of pious guilt-mongers, is exactly what Nietzsche predicted when he said that something worse than Christianity was already on the way. Now, here it is …The Vampires’ Castle feeds on the energy and anxieties and vulnerabilities of young students, but most of all it lives by converting the suffering of particular groups – the more ‘marginal’ the better – into academic capital. The most lauded figures in the Vampires’ Castle are those who have spotted a new market in suffering – those who can find a group more oppressed and subjugated than any previously exploited will find themselves promoted through the ranks very quickly. The first law of the Vampires’ Castle is: individualise and privatise everything. While in theory it claims to be in favour of structural critique, in practice it never focuses on anything except individual behaviour. Some of these working class types are not terribly well brought up, and can be very rude at times. Remember: condemning individuals is always more important than paying attention to impersonal structures. The actual ruling class propagates ideologies of individualism, while tending to act as a class."
>>520988322Leftoids are always on the attack and everything you listed it a simple rebranding to convince normies that it's a new idea and not the same idea that's failed miserably in other countries.
>>520988708another proletARYAN classic.
>>520992858Not really. I think there's been a qualitative shift as to what constitutes "the left". I dont think its superficial. They've given up on collective politics in favor of radical individualism. They've given up on class politics in favor of idendity based " intersectionality". They've given up on materialism in favor of idealism. They've given up in economic determinism in favor of agency based explanations of societal changes. They've almost turned marxism on its head.If you got a Marxist from the 50's and stuck them in a room with a contemporary Marxist the guy from the 50's would by recognize what the contemporary "leftist" was talking about.
