It worsk very well as far as I know except crime and all the other negative things about it. But NY is a very great constructed city with the grid system and everything. LA on the other hand would be impossible.Everything over here in Europe and even big cities are so incredibly dense that it works. Beyond that you are doomed to have a car unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
