Do you think the Chinese have the right idea with these fuckhuge apartment complexes with thousands upon thousands of people living in them?
>>
>>521020250
Do bugs have the right idea living in hives? Sure... for them. We humans prefer houses, though.
>>
I wouldn't trust the structural integrity of the building, honestly. Plus, think of the elevator and staircase situation. What a nightmare.
>>
>>521020250
yes, living vertically is the way to go if you have a massive population and you don't want to sprawl out into the limited greenery you have left.

their apartment living is probably not as bad as it is in the US, they probably don't have niggers blasting their shitty rap, and social credit would deter you from intentionally stomping to piss off your neighbor.
>>
>>521020250
Yeah they're breddy comfy

I have literally been to china, dummy. They have signs in stores and trains telling you not to smoke indoors, citing social credit.
>>

>Singapore has unqualified hordes of Bangladeshi's build theirs and it's fine.
Maybe. I guess it's just the thought of maintaining it and dealing with what comes with a building where there's 1000 units. I'd rather not wait 10 minutes for an elevator or have to walk 50 flights of stairs for a fire emergency. The noise. The crowdedness. All too much for me. Though I'm acclimated to US high rises.
>>
>>521020250
It can only work in china because of the lack of niggers

Sprinkler systems.

The idea is good in theory because a close condensed area like that will require less resources to heat/cool, as well as less piping for things like water, gas, electricity compared to the same population spread out over a large area. I am by no means saying EVERYONE should live like this, but for people like myself with no downwards family i.e. wife/children, it's completely okay. More than that, you can have internal spaces like rec rooms that allow you to meet people / potential friends / spouse and provide the opportunity for third spaces. Compared to the current suburban sprawl where you have to drive half an hour to get anywhere means there's few places for people to just hang out.
It also allows for higher quality shared power generators if there's an issue with the primary supply without needing 50k small gas generators for each home.

It could be ruined by bad neighbors but then again anyplace would be as well, so it's a moot point I fear.

By all means, move out when/if you get a spouse and want space for children, but until then it should be cheaper for the average office drone / depressed anon / NEET.
Completely in favor as long as you don't allow niggers or indians. Preferably not mexicans as well but they can have their own wing I guess as long as it's sound proofed so we don't hear fucking quincinerra or marachi music at all hours of the day.
>>
>>521020428
The Chinese cab drivers here often complain about the "Africans" who stay in the Airbnb's at their apartment buildings, with their loud music and late night drinking. This is in SE Asia.
So it's a universal problem.

I think if China had some kind of "land shortage" they may be "forced" into this kind of thing, at which point its the best option in a bad situation.

The reality is if people can have a house with a little bit of land, they are much more productive and actually have the room to become "industrious" and "entrepreneurial".

How many blue chip silicon valley companies were started in a "garage", well, guess what ... you dont have a garage anymore, that a luxury for millionaires now.

The communist dont understand the creation of value or progress outside of cornering natural resources.

Im not pro China or anything but doesnt China get a lot of earthquakes? If it were really that bad then wouldnt all Chinese structures have turned to kingdom come ages ago?
>>
>>521021574
Looks like the inspiration for the combine architecture in HL2.
>>
>>521020467
The thing is China has little to no oversight from start of production to shipping, and the little there is can be easily bribed. So it isnt as much the workforce, but the logistic (and the corrupt twats managing it) behind it, that is the issue. There is also the cha bo duo cultural aspect that one has to take into consideration.
>>
>>521021808
I don't know any building I'd trust in an earthquake scenario, to be frank. It's not mutually exclusive.

Yes. They are packed tightly, and if the building collapses there will be a lot of casualties (good thing in their view).

No. Those are buildings are why they have a total fertility rate lower than 1. Females don't reproduce above the 5 fifth floor because they subconsciously stressed out looking out the window and seeing a huge drop and not ground. Asian governments aren't serious about fixing the "birth crisis" until they decide to ban these inhuman structures.

Real estate is one of the most competitive and cutthroat markets in the world, it's only recently that owning property printed infinite money.

because we have tangible safety regulations and trusted local overseers.

china's tofu dreg highrises don't have any of those, and tofu dregs are built in quick succession because during the chinese housing bubble, houses are treated like stocks there, not actual homes that people live in. land developers then got greedy and put profits over safety.

Big hotels are sold to other companies above Mariott/Hilton but nothing really changes. But what I meant was the keep up. When an infestation is reported they have pest control spray the rooms/do extermination by a number of rooms or a floor. Same with maintenance. If a group of maintenance was always on site it could work.
