I've seen a lot of hate these days coming from the christian right, specifically christian dominionists, over cognitive dialect and mental reframing. I've learned a lot since I left the theocracy I was raised in. Got some school and worked psych, and I've been studying religious abuse for 10 years now. TL;DR - They hate it because it removes their ability to control people. So much of therapy for those who have suffered religious abuse and trauma centers around reconstructing a personality and identity that has been warped into hyper-dependence and paranoia.
>>521034798Okay cool, what do you think about the trauma caused by infant circumcision and the religious ethnocentric supremacy preached by different movements in judaism, that outsiders are meant to be preyed upon by whatever means necessary by the insiders of said groups?
>>521035499The same I think of all religious abuse? To be fair, christians spread infant cirucumcision way farther than the jews ever did. Way way more christians get circumcised at birth than jews, like orders of magnitude different. Yeah yeah, per capita, but the ideology with the largest raw numbers behind that stat is christianity. Specifically american protestantism

For Christians, it's elective, and even not recommended, as only the weirdo cultists would self-mutilate.>the ideology with the largest raw numbers behind that stat is christianity.
