They played it well. They could tell the public was souring, and by the end the Trump admin approached the supreme court to end snap, which doesn’t look great for conservatives. What it did more than anything was make a grand show of democrat support for affordable healthcare. When premiums go up, this is what people will remember. This was the whole idea.
