The thing is, it wasn’t that much better for millenials. Yeah, they got jobs and some of them had decent wages but the cost of living hikes have been so drastic that even high wage earners are living lives that were like middle class at best back in 1980. Plus, they have to work all the time for them. The only way out of this trap was to accrue wealth via assets, but they haven’t been able to do that because they don’t make high enough wages and cash savings have been worth less and less every year. And as for corporate wealth, there’s only four industries that have statistically generated any wealth at all since 1990. Those are finance, insurance, real estate, and tech. For real estate that’s just owning real estate so that doesn’t even count. That’s a lot of it for finance too, owning investments. So really, just 2 businesses have generated wealth: insurance, which we’re all required by law to buy, and technology which is like a fraction of all workers. So basically, the only millenials that made any money were the ones that started tech companies or got high end jobs in the tech industry. And that bubble has more or less popped so that’s over now too. Zoomers are really upset that the last path to wealth has been taken from them but they should be really upset that for many decades now there’s basically been only 1 real path to wealth while otherwise there was no difference between working and not working. As a zoomer you have 3 options:1) find a way to get into finance (investments and investment banking specifically), insurance, or tech and preferably found and then sell a company 2) work whatever shitty little job you can get as little and as comfortably as you can just to make enough to survive and pursue your passions in your free time3) don’t work and just pursue your passions It was the same for us millenials quite honestly.
