I'd say that the lifespan of AI chips is actually greater than other forms of compute.
if an AI model is intrinsically useful, can do its job with 99%+ accuracy without substantial delay, then there is very little to improve on.
you can make bigger better models with better chips, but no user is going to notice improvement on tasks that are already 99% accurate in <200ms.
