>gen Z trying to change a tire

My headlight went out. I replaced the bulb myself a few days ago. Does that count?
>>
>>521073580
Nah getting all dirty and yucky is for the birds not to mention it's all contaminated and filled with asbestos
>>
i do. unfortunately i spent more money and time on the repair tools instead of just buying the whole thing. well i at least learnt something
>>
Nope. Next question.
>>
>>521073580
apparently you don't fix your shit either
>>
>>521073580
I use to. Now with kids and a good paying job it’s not worth my time. I’ll still do my landscaping.

I made a mallet for my froe. The head came off already and I'm not fixing it because it sucked to begin with.
>>

I don't have any shit

>>521073836
Not unless you had to replace the entire dome
>>
>>521073580
Yes but it becomes boring after a while so you become a tool addict spanking your money on tools. I just forked out for a makita impact wrench and it makes working on cars enjoyable again, I'm done with laying on the cold floor in the rain trying to hit a ratchet with a lump hammer whilst bits of rust fall into my eyes.

Based. Yes tools are very awesome to have

>>521073686

I did a few head gaskets back when I live with my parents. Now that I'm on my own there is no way I can work on my car without getting it towed away by the apartment manager.
>>
>>521076984
Looks to me its trying to change a drill

This is real?
>>
>>521077454
Here in Burgerland you can't just disassemble your engine wherever. Boomers and Karens hate that.
>>
>>521076373
That car is a mitusbishi.
You know that right?
>>
>>521073580
i don't mess with anything related to my house or car (which I outright own), the money saved doing this I can afford to go to a mechanic (or higher a plumber/electrician) when needed

The United States and likely the west as a whole has an illiteracy problem. People will happily argue that they are indeed literate, because they can read and write a sentence- the trouble is, while they can indeed parrot words, they lack the ability to understand the meaning behind what they read, the ability to take multiple points within a given statement and combine them into a coherent summary. Most people can’t understand “legalese”, because they downright refuse to even try to break it down into simpler concepts. You can hand these people a factory repair manual opened to the necessary page along with only the required tools, yet they would still fail to accomplish the task at hand, even if you expand beyond “installation is reverse of removal”.
>>
>>521077585
They actually come to you complaining? I cant even imagine
>>
>>521078286
No no they are far too cowardly for that. What happens is they put a warning tag on your car and a few days later you walk out and it's gone.

It’s true, many HOA’s and Apartment complexes do not allow ANY level of maintenance to be done on your vehicle, even if one cannot tell that the vehicle is being worked on. It takes quite a bit of finagling to work on a car in such conditions, but it is possible(until you get caught).
>>
>>521073580
Yeah, that's why I got a mini-lathe.
Oddly expensive random bolt at a weird size?
Fuck it, I'll by a larger bolt that's cheaper and machine it down to size.
>>
>>521079748
> mini-lathe

I had too look this up, never heard of it.
Looks like some sort of metal work device. You make bolts with that?
>>
