Hitler put Goering in charge of the Luftwaffe and he ran it into the ground. He was opposed to strategic bombing in favor of dive bombing

To be fair wartime Germany didn't really have the industrial capacity to sustain mass bombing raids with a 2% accuracy rate and heavy aircraft losses

They were too busy trying to defend the territory they had already taken to worry about long range bombing. They had one plane that could do it, the Heinkel, but IIRC it was too busy bombing the Russians to go after anyone else. They used it on Britain at one point. They also had a design program to come up with one that could attack America, but it came way too late in the war. That was how you could describe most shit Germany had going, it all came too late in the war. They simply pissed off too many people too quickly before they could build shit like that in large numbers

For all the successes of the NSDAP and extreme levels of redpill and insight on how the world actually worked like, they missed out the final part of the puzzle - the fact that America would've gone for Greenland/Iceland as invasion stepping stones into Europe itself. A terminal mistake that is happening once again right now, to about the same myopic outcome by a bunch of delusional niggers who cannot come to terms with the idea that America might attack us soon.

And by the time they figured it out back then in the last iteration, it was already too late https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amerikabomber

>why did germany not use strategic bombers? Are they retards?
Herman Goering was a faggot that cut corners whenever possible because he was a lazy fat slob. In a private conversation he said something to the effect of "the fuhrer may ask me how many bombers we have, but he will never ask about the quality of them, so its good enough to have a lot of shitty ones". Nah that's not the exact quote, but he said something to that effect.

This ended up being a problem when Germany did not have bombers with enough range to hit the USSR's industries in the Urals, or American cities like they would have liked to. Hitler did launch programs to create these long range bombers, but the war ended before they were built.

Goering being the lazy fat ass that he was fucked things up for Germany, because he should have had these things in the works and ready before it became an issue.

After the war and while waiting for the Nuremberg trials, Goering lost a bunch of weight, and his IQ shot up. If only Germany had had this smarter thinner Goering during the war years instead of the fat lazy NEET bum they did have.

They were more invested in the "Blitzkrieg" strategy. They built up armored units and mechanized infantry mostly. Everything else was secondary, used as supporting roles for the mechanized and armored units.

>He was opposed to strategic bombing in favor of dive bombing
Dive bombers are light aircraft for close air support of troops on the battlefield. Germany did also have medium-range Tactical bombers which had the ability to drop bombs on Britain, and they did. They just did not have strategic bombers at all.

It's just funny when the whole might means right technical superiority shit falls apart with as much of a cursory reading of what happened. We were developing early air to air rockets because of things like the blitz but it all stopped for obvious reasons.

Nope. Genocide and killing innocent people in millions are the national sport of Germany.

even if they all used an airfield in Calais, France, its still nearly 300 miles to Liverpool. Sheffield was bombed quite a bit, as were many cities in the north and even Scotland. Just flying across to Plymouth would likely be more than 100 miles.

I guess it says something about FDR and his intentions, because his (((Arsenal of Democracy))) not only did have these strategic heavy bombers which could level entire cities (not to mention the Manhattan project), but these things existed or were already in the works during the time when our country was "isolationist". So it shows clearly what his intentions were years in advance.

But even the longest range bombers we're talking about here could not have bombed Germany or Japan from the continental U.S. We still needed bases in Britain in the case of Germany, or islands like Iwo Jima in the case of mainland Japan.

And it isn't only just the bombers themselves. These things also need fighters to escort them in and out, you know.

Google the B-36 peacemaker. It was the aircraft that was going to be used to nuke German cities if America couldn’t use Britain as a jumping off point. That was if the war had gone into 46-48 though.

This is an excellent point. This is also why it was a big mistake that Operation Barbarossa prioritized taking Moscow (which has no oil) instead of the Caucus region (which does). You of course failed to take Moscow anyway, but it was conceivable in some scenarios you might have won that battle, but even if you had it wouldn't have ended the war and your fuel shortage would have remained. So logically, the Caucus should have been the target in the first place. First take that, then you can mop up Moscow later at your leisure.
>>
>>521632826
think about it: the good guy wanted to save as many lives as possible and only hit strategic military goals to avoid collateral damage hence the dive bombing strategy in favor of indiscriminately bombing civilian cities like the british did in Dresden and many other german towns. the anglo-communist alliance killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and bombed pretty much all historical cities into rubble.
>>
>>521632221

That was at the end of the war from desperation of trying to get Britain out of the war and trying to somehow manage to still win the war. Initially Hitler didn't want to kill a single soul. He wasn't ruthless and subversive enough, that's the reality with Hitler. He had too much honour.

The bombing of Wieluń, one of the first military acts of World War II and the first major act of bombing, was carried out on a town that had little to no military value.[78] Similarly, the bombing of Frampol has been described as an experiment to test the German tactics and weapons effectiveness

>The Germans used the threat of bombing Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to try to get the Dutch to come to terms and surrender. After a second ultimatum had been issued by the Germans, it appeared their effort had failed and on 14 May 1940, Luftwaffe bombers were ordered to bomb Rotterdam in an effort to force the capitulation of the besieged city.
Let's not forget that the Netherlands were neutral and were only attacked because they happened to be between Hitler and his intended target, and that it was this act that prompted the British to attack German civilian targets which up to then was explicitly forbidden, even ignoring military targets that could have inflicted civilian casualties like ports.

They should have built medium tier carriers to support U-boats early and invested in interdiction bombers.
Strategic bombing was a meme.

They could have used the carriers to support scouting and anti-scout operations and the U-boats to punch up to bigger carriers.
If they're cheaper they could have supported Japan in the Pacific in exchange for a Soviet invasion.

For the interdiction, they should have fought up the Dniepr, dug in, and harassed supply lines. They could sally out, encircle reds, fall back to the lines, using air scouts and interdiction.
Wait until the Japanese can help.

It was a doctrine thing. The entire concept of war was based around attacking hard and fast, before the enemy can properly react. The airforce existed to soften ground targets.
Also, big bombers are fucking expensive. The B24 alone was more expensive than what America spent to make the nuclear bomb. It was the single most expensive project of the entire war.

Their OG plan for Britain was to use paratroopers but they lost almost all of theirs during the Crete invasion (cleaning up the Italian's mess). They also made the wrong decision to bomb British cities instead of military targets. It is generally agreed by officers at the time that, if the Germans had targetted runways instead of cities early during the Battle of Britain, they would not have been able to fight back and win.

Germany lost the war because they they failed to win in the air. They could not replace planes and pilots at the same rate as their enemies, and they failed to capitulate Britain before they rev'd up their production engines and dragged Uncle Sam into the war.
They were very, VERY close to getting away with everything. A handful of decisions doomed them. If Britain flipped like France did, Germany would not have been beatable. The technology to invade Europe without the british isles conveniently being so close simply did not exist back then.

It isn’t talked about much anymore since history proved it was a retarded idea, but in the interwar American planners were obsessed with this idea that the Norden bombsight would allow strategic bomber formations to absolutely decimate Japanese naval battle groups with pinpoint level bombing. The idea was we’d be fighting most likely in the vicinity of our bases in the Philippines, so range considerations were in part based around that. However reality intervened and level bombing of ships proved so inaccurate as to be worthless. Note that this did not stop MacArthur from claiming Army B-17s carried the day at Midway while the Navy sat around uselessly.

There was some study they did that showed dive bombing was the most accurate kind of bombing so whoever was in charge of the project demanded that all bombers must also be capable of dive bombing. So the plane needed to be able to withstand the stresses involved in pulling up from the dive bombing. Eventually someone said forget the dive bombing, but it delayed the whole project by years.
The use of 2 engines instead of 4 came from the dive bombing requirement. It made it easier to make the plane strong enough to survive dive bombing or something. I forget. Anyway the engines ended up being poorly designed or installed so they overheated a lot and caught fire.

Germany was into ground support bombing. If it's not a part of blitzkrieg, they didn't think much of it. Also, they never really invested in long range fighters so the point would have been moot.

They liked to diddle with things like the Amerikabomber but it never did happen and wouldn't have helped without fighter cover. The one thing that Hitler really wanted was the jet bomber that could give him the retribution he wanted so much over England. The Arado Ar 234 came too late in the war to matter.

In a nutshell.... they...specifically Hitler, was a retard. He was a total idiot to start wars on two fronts and his support systems sucked at repairing planes rather than replacing them..

With total air supremacy, they could in theory just throw planes at the Royal Navy. They didn't really need to sink ships, just damaged enough that they couldn't leave port. It's not like ships had extensive AA by 1940.
Knocking out enough ships so that Germany could win once and that was all they needed.

Without losing the air war, they could have put all those resources and time that they spent on rocketry into naval strike planes instead. Britain would have folded eventually.

It really is. It's why they build the largest colonial empire in the world and yet think they have some claim to protect Poland, after Poland bombed German railways and radio towers and ethnically cleansed Germans. But even if they think that Poland was totally innocent in those respects, it really doesn't make sense for them to tear the world apart over Poland and risk crucifying their own dignity.

It's pretty simple. Germany was constantly resource poor, so they built two two-engine bombers instead of one four-engine bomber. Anyway, they fucked up when they stopped bombing the British airfields and started bombing city centers. The Brits and Anericans only expanded their bombing to everything and everywhere after they destroyed every factory and airfield. They had to drop those bombs somewhere.
>>
>>521641888
Also there is one thing people often forget. Dunkirk was a MUCH worse affair than people think.
It was said that, following Dunkirk, the entirety of Britain had enough weapons to field only two infantry divisions. They had basically nothing at that point, all of their equipment had been left behind in France. They absolutely could have taken over Britain with just paratroopers at that point.

Hitler was retarded. Even if he got lucky in France, he would never be able to invade England. He should have begged for peace after the Battle of London if not before, not that Britain appeared likely accept. Instead he invades the USSR and declares war on the US when he's already lost.

Maybe, they had a minuscule chance to sue for peace with the allies if the retard just took Moscow instead of his gay little three pronged midwit attack, but we will never know.
>>
>>521642250
The German air force was not really equipped to deal with naval targets and their pilots weren't trained for it either. They weren't going to build a bunch of torpedo bombers and train pilots in a short time.
The German navy basically laughed at Sea Lion anyway and was glad when it was called off. They robbed barges from all over the continent and it still wasn't enough transport troops effectively even if they could take on the royal navy, which they had no hope of doing.
>>
>>521634822
Unironically this.

Blue pilled faggots in this thread will point to obvious propaganda about some city that the Germans bombed but when you scratch the surface they were targeting military inside the cities or in the case of "the blitz"(the cringe if you ask me), vengeance action against the British deliberately targeting civilians.

Germany had 4 engine heavy bombers but never put them into mass production so it can only be reasoned that their strategy didn't hinge on murdering civilians from the air.

Germany where the good guys in World War II and anyone who dares to argue otherwise is a Jewish pawn.

Strategic bombing is a fucking meme. Air corps' bullshit is still being peddled today. Go look at their accuracy and the actual factory data and you'll see just how inefficient of a strategy it was. They had years between the fall of france and the planned invasion of the soviet union. They could have allocated resources away from useless rocketry, away from Barbarosa prep and away from building the silly Atlantikwall. Starting new wars with Britain loomed off the coast was the #1 reason they lost.

They just had to grit their teeth and train those pilots and make those naval bombers. And they had the resources and manpower and even time.
Of course, it's easy to say such things as people living 80 years later. We know today that although the USSR had plans to invade Germany, they were very behind on that. Germany thought that the attack was much more imminent. I guess you could blame this on Germany's weak espionage, too.

Yes. That's it. It's like you have no concept that the allies would stage key HQs in civilian centers. FFS we saw that this last year when both Iran and Israel put their labs and missile storage sites under major roadways and inside hospitals.

Cities aren't holy ground because they have civilians in them. Terror bombing is evil because it's specifically not precise and used to target non-hostiles. >This is also why it was a big mistake that Operation Barbarossa prioritized taking Moscow (which has no oil) instead of the Caucus region (which does)
Only two posters in this thread that know any history. Also, Hitler wasn't totally retarded. He wanted to prioritize the Caucuses from the outset but his generals wanted to go for Moscow and Army Group Center ended up getting higher troop allocations. Also, bogging down Army Group North on a vacation outside of Leningrad seems to have been a mistake.

With hindsight, there should have been two army groups. A smaller force going for Moscow with the goal of making Soviets think that was their main target. But their real objective would have been to guard the flank of the main force aimed at the Caucuses. The only way Hitler could have had any hopes of winning the war was by getting that oil in 1942. Instead, they fucked up further by splitting up Army Group south, with one prong aimed for the oil fields, and the other for the Volga, to end up taking neither and losing the war pretty much on the spot.

They were the first to do strategic bombing with Guernica and were even doing terror bombings of London way late into the war with V-2 rockets once they'd pretty much already lost.

The reality is that strategic bombing didn't fit their blitzkrieg strategy and they lacked the industrial output to fill in the blanks which is why they ended up using wunderwaffe bullshit like V-2's as compensation.

The allies had vastly superior industrial output and weren't connected by land so it made sense to overwhelm and pummel the nazi's from the air and then use that advantage to bring it home.

Shoutout the the nazi jet fighters. Read about them and their rocket fuel if you ever want a laugh.

Bombing infrastructure in the Battle of Britain with medium bombers was ultimately a failure even though it could arguably have succeeded, so they didn't see a use in strategic bombers beyond having the range to strike America with a nuke, which was more of a desperation move than anything else. Even a nuke on NY wouldn't have ended the war unless Germany could easily demonstrate the capacity to carpet the East coast with more of them.

The kikes knew Germany wasn't fully subjugated after WW1, so they already planned for the next war.

The jews built replicas of german and japanese cities in the desert to test out the most effective means of eradicating said cities with firebombing (firestorm inducement). Look up the Dugway Proving Ground.

They had like a dozen jew scientists figuring out human slaughter on an industrial scale. They then put that into practice in the Dresden + Tokyo and many other firebombing raids, leading to millions of civilian deaths

Exactly what the jews accuse germans of doing.

Britain was 5-6 weeks away from surrendering the entire airspace of southern and central England, probably faster had Goering realised what impact he had made when the Luftwaffe accidentally knocked out a chunk of the south command radar network on the Isle of Wight, leaving a 90 mile wide black hole to cross through for 5 days before being repaired discreetly.
A total evacuation of the remnants of the RAF to northern England and into Scotland would leave Luftwaffe supremacy in the pivotal coastline which would allow undisturbed destruction of the Home Fleet ships and allow airborne landings at the RAF bases. This would then lead to gradual amphibious crossings to the vital port towns, once they were taken. It would be a couple weeks at most before total conquest as its a very small landmass. The UK ground forces were essentially non existent because of Dunkirk leaving behind all the equipment and U-Boats were choking the country with highly successful pack attacks.

The Churchill small terror bombing of Berlin enraged Hitler and made him change tactic from strictly airbases, dockyards, industrial sites to cities and towns.

The UK's *only* advantage is that its an island, and islands are bitches to take, no matter what era you live in. It's also the biggest disadvantage at the same time, you rely on imports to survive.

Churchill himself even said after the war that the only time he was honestly and truly terrified was when the U-Boats were dominating the ocean and waterways and thanked God the Germans didn't have a lot more of them as originally wanted by Doenitz(300 to win a commerce war with Britain). He credited Hitlers obsession with Plan Z for that one. Focusing on surface fleet instead of the submarines meant Germany initially only had a few dozen U-boats hunting ships(which did truly enormous and shocking levels of damage and shipping losses) instead of 300 of them dominating and fully sealing off Britain permanently into total surrender.

I'm referencing fighters that protect the bombers. The typical BF-109 that protected bombers over London might have been able to engage in combat for about 15 minutes before having to turn back or they'd run out of fuel before they reached the shores of France. The Stukas were totally vulnerable to England's fighters and when it came down to it, Germany could not do field repairs on any damaged planes. In particular, the airframes of British Hurricanes were effectively WW1 era designs and very easy to get fixed.

Germany blew chunks on the Battle of Britain for so many reasons.

1. Never realized that the English had an effective radar defense.
2. Never finished the job of destroying the airfields before attacking London.
3. Never did have the fuel and manpower to sustain a long term fight.
4. German bombers never really improved. The Heinkels and Stukas were really obsolete from the start.
5. Hitler's officers lied out their asses about the success of the air war.

To their credit, the Germans made effective use fo the resources that they had, but it was completely stupid to just walk away from the threat in England before attacking Russia. Hitler was just a small fry who was lucky that the Wehrmacht propped him up as long as they did.

"Für den Mann der kommt nach mir."

or in English,

"For the man who comes after me."

These were Hitler’s last privately recorded words according to Heinz Linge, who was his valet, and the last person whom he physically talked to before he and his wife, Eva, committed suicide in their private room in the Führerbunker on the 30th April 1945.
These words were Hitler’s response to Linge’s question on for whom should the National Socialists and future generations fight for after his death.
The very final mortal words of Hitler however are known only to Adolf,Eva and God as only they heard them.

This was perhaps one last allusion to the core principles of National Socialism, which concerned itself extensively about the future and the place of the Germanic volk(Germans,Danes,Dutch,Swedes,Norwegians and the English) within it. It could also be a reflection of a possible hope that someone in the future will continue on his legacy in a more efficient manner with new technologies and new mindsets.

Indeed Hitler himself actually implied this when privately speaking to Albert Speer after the Kursk defeat in August 1943, his words were recorded as "In a hundred years time, perhaps, a great man will appear who may offer them a chance at salvation. He'll take me as a model, use my ideas, and follow the course I have charted".

He also addressed this again in his final published statement before his death which has this included in it:
"A century or more may pass but out of the ruins of our cities and monuments, the spirit of National Socialism shall rise once again and the hatred will continually grow anew against the people that is ultimately responsible, and for whom we have to thank for all this: international Jewry and its helpers!"

He believed by the end that he was nothing but a vanguard for someone superior to him, a messenger and inspiration for "the coming man" so to speak.

the 300 u-boats thing sounds tempting, but building that many by 1939(and finding trained crews for them)was beyond germonys means without weakening the other two branches which they needed to defeat france. also britain would've known about it and build escorts, and it's pure hindsight bias. you might as well argue the early u-boat success were possible only because the british slept on it, the "wolfpacks" were overrated and sunk a minimal percentage of convoy ships at any time after 1940

It would be worth all my efforts, continuous work and dedication to reading, studying and researching over the past 14 years. IMHO I would give my best to at least not be a bad FÜHRER and surround myself with competent people I would actually listen to and let them do their work based on meritocracy and their respective qualifications, capacities and capabilities. The civilizational parasite class of usurers and their helpers would be removed from the map once and for all, that is for certain, like they never even existed! Of course cooperation and mutual agreements with other Fuhrers, like in Britain, based on common interests and shared goals, would be a good start for the manifold of things to come!

No. I hate politics, all a bunch of cunts, traitors and degenerates of the highest possible caliber. They make my skin crawl. Each and every one of the smarmy pricks is a cunt that serves everyone else but Britain.

The glowies must have one hell of a database on all the skeletons in the many closets of each politician.

I just find the estoteric and mystical stuff interesting. I do think there's a cycle to things, faces and names change but themes remain the same. That's consistent throughout history.

I leave politics to the talkers who never do anything and are there for the very fat unjustifiable pay packets, a golden insane pension and endless expenses. I like using my hands and actually being useful.
Right now we're a failed state with an actual dead economy and completely politically and socially unstable at Weimar levels with 6 PM's(soon 7) in 10 years.
I'm just here to enjoy the very bumpy ride and hope I make it through what comes next because history shows us what happens next every single time.

I hope for a King Arthur-esque or Alfred the Great character to rise "Cometh the hour, cometh the man" and all that but I increasingly doubt it at the moment.

Strategic bombing implies a long war of attrition, like happened in WW1.
Hitler was determined to avoid such a situation. His wars were going to be quick and decisive.
So the job of the air force was to support ground troops, not attack enemy factories far from the front.
Of course, we all know what happened. The Russian invasion misfired and Germany found itself in exactly the situation Hitler wanted to avoid.
However by the time he acknowledged this it was 1943 and it was too late.

Hitler-fans on this thread all raging against Goering, just like they were in 1944-45.
Goering had to work with what he was given, which was much less than the army, and even the navy. Luftwaffe just didn't have the resources to do what Hitler wanted it to do.
Goering became the official scapegoat for everything that went wrong in the war -- the failure to defeat Britain in 1940, the failure to save Stalingrad and Rommel in 1942-43, the failure to prevent bombing of German cities.
None of these things were his fault. They were Hitler's.

>uk were pioneers of radar tech at the time
Britain had broken the Luftwaffe codes so knew where the bombers were headed before they even took off.
This was a big secret though. It only became public in 1970s.
Before then, radar was claimed to be the super miracle weapon that always RAF advantage over Luftwaffe. This was actually disinformation.
(This led to some controversy in 1980s when a certain historian noticed that Churchill somehow always arranged to never be sleeping where the bombs where falling.)
>>
>>521643154
>The British were aiming to go to war with Japan before they declared war on Germany.
Literally last thing Britain wanted in 1938-9 was war with Japan. Britain couldn't deal with German and Japan at same time and everybody knew it.
(Breaking the alliance with Japan in 1920s was controversial in Britain precisely for this reason.
However even back then Britain had to be sensitive to American concerns about Japan, and the Americans hated this alliance.)
>>
>>521632221

>>521644363
>Terror bombing is evil because it's specifically not precise and used to target non-hostiles.
There's a legal mechanism to prevent this: declare the city an open city, cease all military activities there, and allow neutral observers in to verify this.
But this never happens because factories are always located in cities, and nobody wants to shut down military industry in wartime.
>>
>>521644424
>his generals wanted to go for Moscow
All railways in European Russia ran though Moscow. Capture it and you paralyse the rail network.
(In those days rail transport was more important than road.)
If you take Stalingrad you also cut the Volga, which was Russia's main waterway. Again, this would paralyse Russian communications.
(Capturing Leningrad was less important since the German navy already dominated the Baltic.)
So I can see what Hitler was trying to do, he just didn't have enough force to pull it off.
>>
>>521632221
In WW2 ? They did, it was called the bombing of London or 'the Blitz'. It was the precursor to the 'bombing of Dresden'
