I commend the artist for their dedication to realistically portraying their experience. It's not without bias, but it does make every attempt to avoid delusion. And there's a humanity in it that inspires empathy even though I ideologically oppose almost everything in it.Which is to say, this is one of the only sincere and partially successful attempts to bridge the partisan divide in our culture."Love the sinner, hate the sin" is probably empty words to people on both sides of the partisan divide, but I feel a genuine empathy and sorrow for the suffering of these characters- and for the author who surely experienced at least some of this in order to write it so clearly.
