Depression, like anxiety, is made up psychobabble bullshit. Newsflash, sad sacks, if your life is objectively sad and/or stressful then you don't have "depression and/or anxiety" - you're just responding to your environment. Most people lead lives of quiet desperation where shit only gets worse and worse until they die. You're not special because you're unhappy and you're not insane either. Don't let the powers that be gaslight you otherwise just so they can hook you on prescription drugs and make a nifty little profit zombifying you.

What about seasonal affective disorder?

Same explanation. The very fact we now pathologize people tending to feel down during the time of the year when the weather's more gloomy should tell you all of it's bullshit.

Depression and anxiety are nothing new, they have been described throughout history. Alexander the Great was subject to depression. So was King Saul of ancient Judah. Unless you have ever experienced anxiety or other mental illness, you really have no business giving an opinion about it. But one thing you need to know: it usually has nothing to do with a reaction to life circumstances. It just happens all of a sudden, and it's pretty horrible.

unless you have lived with anxiety you wouldn't understand, for some its not just being a bit nervous. trying having panic attacks all day long and hyperventilating for no reason at all. just sitting at home and all of a sudden your body just activates your flight or flight response and dumps a bunch of adrenaline for no reason, do that multiple times a day everyday for years. its impossible to function normally.

“Let's suppose that you were able every night to dream any dream that you wanted to dream. And that you could, for example, have the power within one night to dream 75 years of time. Or any length of time you wanted to have. And you would, naturally as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could conceive. And after several nights of 75 years of total pleasure each, you would say "Well, that was pretty great." But now let's have a surprise. Let's have a dream which isn't under control. Where something is gonna happen to me that I don't know what it's going to be. And you would dig that and come out of that and say "Wow, that was a close shave, wasn't it?" And then you would get more and more adventurous, and you would make further and further out gambles as to what you would dream. And finally, you would dream ... where you are now. You would dream the dream of living the life that you are actually living today.”

If you're not even gonna bother about reading the official definition of depression, then you're obviously not serious about changing your mind of it being a meme.

LESSON TO ALL ANONS:

Stress is your body's way of telling you that there is something you're supposed to be doing but are not, or that you *are* doing what you're supposed to do but you're running out of time.

>PAIN
created by the brain to protect our body

>STRESS
created by the body to keep our brain focused

Our body cannot live without a brain, and a brain cannot survive without a body. Pain and stress is how our body and mind maintain their "marriage".

If you are stressed, that is your body's way of telling you that your mind has not been focused on what's really important right now.

Your stress levels immediately start to go down when you get yourself on track and start doing what you're supposed to be doing.
