i watch a lot of arrest videos as i neet max and one theme that came up several times whether its a blonde white woman or a black ghetto man was telling the cop "i have a job" both as a nod to be let off. can we explore this phenomenon because im sure its prevalent in our society the "honor of jobmaxxing" and implicit to that how youre saving society and proven to be a good member for answering phone calls all day or whatever "job" they do

Cops use discretion, or they’re supposed to. A person with a job, a person with obligations and responsibilities who contributes something to the economy is a valuable target for discretion because the purpose of police is not to go around locking up all the people with positive traits, or at least it didn’t used to be. Saying you have a job implies you have something on then line, some sort of bedrock to tell the officer that you’re not just some random maniac or loser out breaking the law. It gives him an insight into your character and tells him if arresting you is a priority or not.

If it were easier to score manpuss this would change dramatically. In my opinion.

It's an underhanded way of usurping authority.
>Oh I have a job therefore I pay taxes therefore your wages therefore I am your boss! So you will not arrest me and if you don't stop this I will have your badge mister!
