The government foots the bill with subsidies which go to these companies not the farmers. then you have companies like Sysco who bypass us food production and buy the cheapest possible ingredients from another country. American farmers are stuck with basedbeans they can't sell while we subsidize Argentina which is instead selling their basedbeans to China. We lose ~40% of our farmers each year to bankruptcy, generational farmers and the largest farming companies in the world just come in and buy all their land.
