Are solar panel farms really bad for the countryside?
>>522062918Yes. The earth needs the sun.
>>522062918thats a good use for them
>>522063044yeah, OP is so retarded he failed biology at school
>>522062918No. It's the same stupid logic as wind turbines being detrimental to birds. Sure some birds are stupid enough to fly into them but the rest learn to avoid them. It's just oil and coal propaganda to try and get stupid people to hate cleaner energy
>>522062918it would be nice if they worked
>>522062918difficult to say for my position. I have $35,000 saved. its not much but its all I have. I could spend ALL of it to afford a solar system for my house. in ten years I will break even on the investment and only then will it start to actually 'save' me money is it worth becoming penniless to not have an electric bill? or do I save that $35,000 for other investments over the next 10 years?I think they're only worth it if you're already wealthy. anyone else is just hamstringing themselves
>>522063269The earth also needs wind.
solar is for household supplementary power, as households see fit. if it makes sense financially to, generally people will. often doesn't because of taxes and permitting. most of these are landgrabs & are horrible malinvestment, as you would expect when the government handles capital allocation
>>522063323that was a different kind of thing though. direct electrical generation using PV works a lot better. it did look pretty cool though i have to admit. used to see it while driving on I15 quite regularly.
>>522063269Turbines give off too much radiation though very annoying
>>522063518i wouldn't blow that much on it. i could change my house over to PV/wind for less than $10k. just too lazy.
>>522063323>>522063599Yeah those are neat to look at between vegas and beyond primm. Sucks to hear they suck but i'm not surprised
>>522063044You wouldn't be crying if they had simply paved over it with concrete to "expand".
>Solar piracy
>>522063323that's what they get for pilfering half the power draw to the helios 1 satellite
>>522063323Maybe if they stopped wasting all the energy powering that giant light bulb up there
>>522063781>I am suddenly made of strawDamn, you win.
>>522063722i read that they never really produced much. something about the design in general and the system needing lots of natural gas to preheat it before the sun started striking the panels.
>>522063269It's not cheaper or more environmentally friendly when you look at the whole construction, maintenance, and disposal lifecycle of the components. It's a grift that only barely makes sense for energy companies because the government gives jews a handout to do it, to satisfy the greentards that can't do math that other jews have tricked into thinking it works.Another example of perfect synergy between the J-left and J-right.
>>522063885It's not even a strawman lmao. You can't use the environment as your primary reason for not wanting something if you're ok with that same environment being destroyed for something else.At that point you simply don't want the first thing - it doesn't actually have anything to do with preserving the environment.
>>522063269The same people who want to sell you wind energy also wanted to sell you the vaxx, do I distrust them and their "science" by default.
>>522064105Stop already you're beating the straw out of me.
>>522063873>maybe your solar power would have worked out if you had less light
>>522062918Shade is nice for them, but the grass won't grow nearly as well.
>>522062918>Uses weather modifiction tech to dump hail all over your solar arraysHeh. Nothin personnell, white golems.
>>522062918Does in my area. The largest basedbean processing and biofuel plant in the US is not far from me. They put it there because of logistics, it's close to where the crop is. My local town council meeting was fun when local elected officials we're outed for joining in to the sleazy cash and land grab machine that's called "green energy initiatives" though. I want nuclear.
>>522064297good thing is that the sun moves all day long and will reach the shaded areas at some point. looks quite a dry place anyway so a bit less direct sun will help bu keeping the soil temps down a bit. the grass quits growing once it gets too hot.
>>522062918No. They create some good jobs for rural people. However just because they aren't bad does not imply that we should mostly rely upon them in our energy mix, especially not in temperate climates.Yes we need some solar and wind because in summer it would be just dumb to not get all of that very, very cheap energy but there is no replacing nuclear for the dark months. Some natural gas will also be needed even with nuclear in the mix as both nuclear and solar can not adapt to fast changes in the need for power consumption.
>>522062918There's no way sheep aren't destroying those by jumping on them.
>>522063044With solar activity increasing we need to do our part to reduce the impact on our planet while simultaneously benefiting from it at the same time.
>>522063044>>522062918YesThey are a meme and they go bad right the tube you bread even from buying them
>>522064533goats would probably cause some issues.
>>522064533Sheep arent goats. Sheep are patheticly helpless.
The problem with solar and most renewable energy is if you actually run the math and are careful about how you calculate the input and output, the energy exchange is literally negative. You expend more energy erecting and capturing and creating energy than you get back. To date, there are exactly two energy sources which have a consistently positive exchange and are relatively easy to get and those are coal and oil. That’s it. Everything else is either not enough energy produced or is so industry-intensive that the idea you could use it without coal and oil is ridiculous.
>>522064603Goats would destroy them sheep would be the best bet
>>522063934This.They also ignore that most oil companies are state run enterprises while most "alternative energy" companies are front operations for big private companies like Acciona or General Electric. They hype about oil industry lobbying because then retarded normies vote for them to be subsidized by the public. It's all a scam.
>>522064170>unironic buzzword "debating" wow, you win i guess lol
>>522064575This is a better argument, but it's fatal conceit.
>>522064698You can make an argument at any time.
>>522064842I did. You ignored it twice and cried about an imaginary "straw man".
>>522062918They soak up all the sun and leave less for the rest of us
>>522064990Your argument was that if I opposed blocking the sun with solar panels I must love blocking the sun with concrete. Do better it this will be my last response to you.
>>522064775>but it's fatal conceitNot an argument
>>522065369>solar maximum is le badDo explain.
Guess what produces more power.
>>522066106Debs Bed & Biscuit?
>>522066247damn straight. she's a real goer
>>522063323>NCR trannies managementyeah
>>522063323Solar thermal is now less efficient than photovoltaic so no surprise there that they are shutting down the Solar thermal plants.
