I would like to see this concept understood much more widely. It explains much of Indian behavior and why they are fundamentally incompatible with Western societies.It's basically an 'honor' system where the 'honor' can be obtained from others through theft and murder. Yeah this makes sense. I work with a team based in India and I’ve been pointing out bad practices in their work (because they’re incompetent), but instead of taking the feedback and improving like someone in the west would, they’ve been making up lies, misrepresenting things, going above me (my manager), trying to make me look bad, seething, etc.

I had to deal with an "engineering" team in bangalore that was very difficult. They had run off another american employee who complained that they were too loud and chaotic to understand. They were grossly incompetent, couldn't automate anything, and refused to listen or learn. They referred to each other as junior or senior or sir, had a limited command of english, and were basically retarded. The last straw came when I had a meeting with several managers regarding the bangalore team, and their manager talked over overone the whole time. It was all weird, but izzat explains it all.
