trumps economy made me so poor i cant afford new oil. my old oil has been sealed up in my deep fryer for 6 months but smells ok. when i heat the oil up it should kill all the bacterias right? picrel is my oil
>>522080390i want to make some sweet potato fries
You can deep fry an uncrustable. Something to think about.
Forgot pic
>>522080390You kill the bacteria, but not the poop, which is toxic.
>>522080390It's the oxidation that's the issue, not to mention that oxidized oil tends to be bitter and doesn't make fried food taste good.I just keep the drippings from ground beef and have a practically unlimited supply of tallow. If I think it has gone bad, I can toss it into a fire and feed the flames when the animal fat is no longer good to feed my body.
>>522080599>12 year old spamfagging his youtube bsNo wonder your parents are not proud of you
>>522080390Run it through a coffee filter first
>>522080390good thing you managed to live off your huge reserves of body fat during the biden years eh faggot. must suck you got replaced with a shitjeet coder in 2022
>>522080746Someone else's video. I didn't watch it. Just for illustrative purposes vis a vis the 'crustable (slang for uncrustable).
>>522080390>but smells okfirst of all, oil and fat go bad by going rancid (which is a molecular modification very easily detectable by nose, even for non-jews)that being said, only cook stuff in it for yourself, or of want to serve it to another person make sure you tell about The Origins and get their consent
>>522080390Oil is fat, which oxidizes, in other words it goes rancid.Contamination also is bad; you should at minimum regularly sift out any macroscopic foreign matter, and filtrate the oil before storing it more long-term. A coffee filter may be sufficient.Furthermore: store it air tight with little free volume or displace the air in the container, to get rid of the oxygen. Fully filled glass bottle is good.
>>522080722This, or in other words even if you kill any living bacteria there are frequently still toxic compounds produced by those bacteria present which the heat doesn't break down
>>522080900>ofif
>>522080390Ol boy just uploaded one for a turkey pot on how to clean the oil, you can find many others on his channel. It's always the same methodhttps://youtu.be/pMXVFqrwblo?si=O1lJEx3z5rnMM1BL
>>522080390bacteria isnt the concern, its the oxidation of the oil, dummywhat type of oil is it
>>522080742based tallow enjoyer
>>522080925>>522080722if bacteria could live (and poop) in oil, we'd be making cheese from used motor oil
>>522080390How many times have you cooked with that oil? If it doesn't smell rancid it's probably not. Some people say sneed oil is already rancid so they have to deodorize it or something. I don't know....Maybe ask on /ck/
>>522080390Oil can go bad, yes.1st. It depends on the oil. Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated oils can go rancid. It's not bacteria related, it's oxygen, and light related. (this is why olive oil bottles are green glass)They oxidise from an oil (a fatty acid) into an aldehyde, and aldehydes are carcinogenic. So it isn't bacteria that are going to cause problems, it's how oxidised the oil is.Usually you can smell rancidity. Aldehydes tend to smell like fruit. If it smells OK, has been kept in the dark in a sealed fryer then there should be little oxidation and little rancidity.Fully saturated oils like animal fats can last a lot longer before going rancid than seed oils.
>>522081105Cooking oil is not the same as motor oil.
>>522081047canola
>>522080390Change that oil. You can filter and re use oil but you need to change it after using it a bit. It definitely can go bad and when it starts getting dark, you should change it.
>>522081594i used it one time to make deep fried okra
>>522080390Yes you fucking idiot. Fats oxidize, when it start to smell bad change it. If you can't afford cooking oil get an air fryer you subhuman.
>>522080390Bad oil can murder you by attaching to your arteries
>>522080390You don't have $5 for a bottle of canola?
>>522081683How is it deepfried? I can't handle the slimy texture of it just cooked as is
>>522080390It's overcooked to the point that it's no longer an edible. It's so damaged molecularly that your body will not know how to convert it to energy. This toxic oil is going to clog up your arteries and build up in the fat tissue. Since it is a burt oil it contains no information as if it were synthetic oil. It's only good for burning at this point and should not be consumed.
