His death was misinterpreted by misinformed viewers as callousness on the part of the police officer leading to this death casing a storm on social media. Further hysteria over racism in the police force was stirred up by people's poor understanding of mathematics and various demagogues seizing the opportunity for self-publicity.
The large scale protests were too large for police to handle and opened up opportunities for mass looting.
Many protestors and BLM members were like George Floyd, violent criminals involved with drugs, and the event set the stage for opportunistic looting sprees during civil unrest and natural disasters.
Their greatest fear is that the general population will come together and elect a party willing to upset the established order, from which they benefit, like in El Salvador where both the armed forced and the police rounded up known gang members and placed them in special containment facilities for their own protection. If a poor country like El Salvador can do it, it would be easy to accomplish in America.Thus gangs enjoy the protection of the state against the general populace who have to suffer from their crime. This arrangement benefits the state and the super rich elite like Soros and Bloomberg as it provides a cover for them to conduct their own illegal activities and creates loyal voters, a kind of alliance between the top and the bottom against the middle.Race of course was a strong component of this. BLM members are more or less open about their belief that resources must be redistributed from privileged white people to minorities with an obvious parallel with looting white owned stores. Although stores that feebly tried to mark themselves as black owned did not escape the looting. Some of course tried to preach against looting, but it would be naive to ignore the undercurrent of racial hatred towards white people.
