It makes sense to align corporate art/media with workplace culture since generally only people who are working have the money to pay for stuff. So if you control workplace culture you control art.

Workplace culture is mostly constrained by making people feel comfortable so they can work together. The more often you feel uncomfortable, the more constraints you are placing on workplace social standards, the more influence you have.

Groups that feel uncomfortable a lot are women, lgbt, minorities. All the modern games and movies pander to them even in cases, where they are a small audience. This is amplified by the same workplace culture existing in the art creating companies.
