Beaver, Pennsylvania (a rural, 95% White town) votes in a Democratic Mayor for the first time in 100 years. Also, the town has never voted for a Democratic President. Most of the state is vast nothingness, mountains with nobody on them, but one side is close enough to New York to be affected by New York and the other side is mostly rural, with a tiny city that fucks everyone around them. Pennsylvania is largely a welfare state. Western PA has a lot of welfare recipients, and the groceries are through the fucking roof here. People go to Ohio for groceries, but you have to penetrate 50 miles into the state to get away from the magical mystical region that makes grocery prices skyrocket. Oddly, there's almost no crime because it's very white, at least in the western part, and the blacks here are nice folk, and they take care of their homes and mow their lawns.
