Republicans are generally much more willing to compromise and unite without substantial infighting than Dems are, but things like Israel and H1Bs are way too big a wedge issue for the leaders to ignore. And the worst part of that is that they're MAKING it that way. If the Republican leadership was just handing money to Israel without making such a big show of cleaning up after them and telling everyone how much we NEED them, then the populists within the party wouldn't be making as equal a show of turning against them.
