The decline of religion coincides with the willingness of the general population to believe in anything. People clearly long for the concept of God, but they cannot find it, or they simply cannot believe in it.

I'm somewhat of a non-voluntary atheist myself. Despite wanting to believe and praying a lot when i was a kid/young adult, i never heard anything. Have any of you ever had a truly religious experience?

On a societal level, where is religion headed? Will the current ones die out, and will a new one take their place? Or will they rebound?
