>According to economists at Morgan Stanley and Beijing-based think tank CF40, the property sector’s drag on inflation could even be greater than official data suggest. They argue that the methodology used to determine China’s official Consumer Price Index understates falling rents, and, by extension, the broader deflationary impact.

Can I afford to buy a house in China?
>>
Oh no they're deflating their housing bubble, don't they know that you're supposed to let it inflate to infinity with printed money?
>>
wow they’re seeing prices from ….. 9 years ago?
>>
Currency and the Yuan are just imaginary numbers, the currency is valued at whatever the government says it is. Its nothing, the land and housing is still as valuable as it always was.

Sure, just not in a city. Also it would be better to just go to a casino and put it all on red

yeah i wish we could do something about people and businesses owning houses to generate income and not to live in. Taxes on second houses should be something gay like 2-3% a year.

I don't understand what you mean. I'm not speculating to make money, I just want a roof over my head.

Are you writing from the street?

speculation to make money is the only reason Chinese buy these houses. They're all addicted to gambling, and take out huge loans they'll never repay hoping their house increases in value but China builds endless rows of houses nobody ends up living in.
Ghost cities.
Better to live somewhere else. An akiya in Japan would be better than this.

I remember reading homes have been an investment for Chinamen. This can't be good, especially with little new info after Evergrande.
