My family is a farmer we’re Canadian and we have supply management. Supply management only works with tariffs. Think about it. The Canadian government pays us to destroy our surplus crops every year so that we can keep the prices of food high which allows small farmers to stay profitable, otherwise we’d go under.Howard Lutnik wants us to drop all tariffs on American food which would totally screw us since American farmers not only are a bit more efficient (although possibly not after accounting for the stronger dollar), but most importantly America doesn’t have supply chain management so they aren’t paid to destroy their own crops like us so they would flood the Canadian markets with food and put us out of buisness
