Everyone on the show had dating problems. But they also tried to make the entire cast seem like "regular average everyday people". Jerry was the "famous comedian" so he usually got the higher-tier women. George was the "loser" who was always having work issues, unemployment, etc. and failed relationships. Even though Elaine IRL comes from a billionair French-Jewish family.Now compare that to Sex in the City (also a Jewey TV show). In that series, the women all went for top-tier rich guys with successful careers. That's actually more realistic for the way a lot of those high-class people date, and the type of families they marry into.
