A good man wants to "do politics" to achieve utopia, and then go home.

Bad men want a career in politics and rape metaphorically and literally as much as they can.

So you see you might achieve utopia for a bit, but the default state is for the good to put their heads down and for the bad to stand tall and ruin everything.

How do you make a good man remain political and still be a good man?
