Existence is just this grinding machine where you're constantly wanting shit you don't have and the second you get it the satisfaction evaporates and you're back to wanting something else. It's an endless treadmill of dissatisfaction baked into the very structure of being alive. Every living thing is just this churning will that can never be satisfied because satisfaction would mean the end of wanting, which would mean the end of the will itself. Non-being doesn't have this problem. When you're nothing, there's no will to frustrate, no desires left unmet, no gap between what you want and what you have. It's not like being asleep or being in bliss because those states still require a subject that exists to experience them. Non-being is the complete extinction of the wanting-machine itself. And if you really think about it that's the only real escape. Everything else (pleasure, achievement, love, whatever) is just temporarily numbing the pain. You're still trapped in the cycle. Non-being is breaking the cycle entirely. It's redemption because it's the only state where the fundamental problem of existence (the fact that to exist is to want, and to want is to suffer) is completely and permanently solved. You can't suffer what you aren't around to experience. That's just following the logic to its conclusion. The peace everyone's actually searching for can't exist within existence itself.
