Alright here:

"Izzat" is a sort of concept of honor among Indians. Basically, it dictates their behavior and how they treat others. But it's not really about what's right and wrong, it's about who wins and who loses, meaning that anything is permissible to restore the "lost Izzat".
It's almost like a "greed is good" way of thinking.
