Both.Women are born with value, where men aren’t born valuable.Modernity itself operates off of value, so women are born at 1 where we are born at 0, societally speaking.Therefore, women have the option to sell themselves, where men can only sell their labor.This is the problem.

They can't mostly be used for anything unless you have both laws which are enforced and social shaming to keep them in check. Women and children are supposed to be legal property of the husband/father.If he decides to take them off to a different town, they have to comply.That's the basis of society. Society is a big set of families. The father is the original agent of social control.The government attempted to usurp the function of fatherhood and now society is collapsing. The government has tried to seize control of most of society over the past century. That is why the founding fathers feared a standing army (which is in this case the police.)
