What's called the "market" does not actually have an independent existence, it is essentially an abstract & socially agreed upon narrative — a coordination myth, very much like religion, that organizes collective behaviors through shared/imposed/mandated beliefs, concepts, & rituals. Prices, capital flows, & growth metrics are treated as natural laws but they are social fictions that must be maintained by political, legal, educational, & military institutions b/c they do not have any standalone reality like geology, gravity, or solar radiation.Economics, w/ economists as its priests, serves as a theology & justification for an unnatural & exploitative hierarchical social system: it supplies the rationalizations, models, & moral vocabulary that make the fiction "real" (e.g. "efficiency", "equilibrium", "invisible hand", etc). Like older cosmologies & religions, it is used to enforce & legitimize power relations & reify resource asymmetries & imbalances into seemingly objective necessities. When these social fictions override real ecological & biological limits, the entire enterprise becomes oppressively authoritarian & self-destructive — essentially another iteration of an ancient religion that demands & dictates sacrifices for its own perpetuation.Whatever social order comes after it must derive meaning & be grounded in real material reciprocity, ecological balance, & collective sufficiency rather than faith in unnatural fictions based on unrealistic numeric delusions like exponential growth on a finite planet.

>>522585468The post pairs a striking photo of an abandoned locomotive graveyard—rows of rusted-out Soviet-era steam and electric trains slowly crumbling into the earth—with a dense philosophical takedown of "the market" as nothing more than a modern religion: a collectively enforced fiction, propped up by priests (economists, rituals (trading, GDP worship), and sacred texts (efficient-market hypothesis, invisible hand, etc.), all to justify hierarchy and endless growth on a finite planet. The core claim is accurate in one crucial sense: markets have no independent existence the way gravity does. Prices, property rights, corporations, limited liability, futures contracts—every single one is a legal/social construct that only "works" because armed institutions (states, courts, police, militaries) enforce it 24/7. Remove the enforcement apparatus and the whole thing evaporates overnight. In that narrow sense, yes, capitalism is a 400-year-old coordination myth, just like medieval Christianity or the divine right of kings were in their day.
>>522584517Lmao it's not that deep, yes the worldwide economic system is rigged because the natural state of products and services is deflationary but you're too autistic to be able to convey it effectively.
