Are they a fully defeated people? It kind of suprises me to really think about it. Nobody talks about them. Basically most of the tribes in the US and Canada are subjugated and have maybe a small fraction of their prior populations. Almost no cultural influence, no representation, no relevance to the modern day. Who do they even have in media? John Redcorn from King Of The Hill? Pocahontas?And they don't have much in the way of political or economic power either. It seems like they simply exist on their increasingly small reservations and just succumb to alcoholism. They don't have second countries to flee to. Their homeland is taken and continually being filled with foreign peoples. First it was us Europeans coming, then all the African slaves, now it's hordes of Latin Americans and Indians. Brutal. Is this the fate for all comquered peoples?
